24: Live Another Day concludes its abbreviated run tonight. The original 24 consisted of 24 1-hour episodes–each episode represented one hour in an action-filled day. I’m not a big Kiefer Sutherland fan, but he was effective as rogue agent Jack Bauer. I really liked Yvonne Strahovski as CIA agent Kate Morgan. I’m hoping she doesn’t get killed off in tonight’s explosive conclusion. It would be nice if 24 gets renewed for another season. It’s silly, but entertaining.
I gave up on this after the first season. To me, the premise was flawed in that saving the world over and over in 24 hours just wasn’t logical. To neat. The world rarely follows a set pattern.
Randy, I had the same reservations about 24 that you did. But Dave Barry’s blog commentary kept me watching.
I couldn’t get over Sutherland delivering every line like he was trying to overcome constipation.
Bob, Sutherland mumbles his lines a lot. I have to watch 24 with closed captioning on.
I’m with you, George. I think cutting it in half seems to have worked. A lot of the extraneous, tedious filler in some of the previous seasons is missing this year, Kate is a good partner (too bad they killed off the redheaded Renee last time) and I’m hoping there is another series in the offing.
I will be forming a perimeter around the TV tonight.

Jeff, I miss the lovely redhead, Renee, but Kate is an excellent replacement. You’re right about the action quota going way up in this abbreviated format of 24. I’ll be checking Dave Barry’s blog tonight.
I gave up after he shot a woman in the leg to get her husband to talk. Not my kind of hero.
Patti, fighting terrorists is a dirty business.
