Right now, Western NY is being hit by a late winter storm. Forecasters are calling for 8-12 inches of the White Stuff to fall on us today. I’ll be firing up Big Orange for yet another show blowing mission. Once I clear the snow from my driveway and sidewalks, I plan to listen again to Marina Rebeka’s new CD, Mozart Arias. Marina Rebeka’s voice makes these arias as light as cotton candy. The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Speranza Scappucci provide solid accompaniment. If you’re a fan of Mozart, you’re going to enjoy this thrilling CD. Check out the sample below. Pardon me, I have to go snow blow again. GRADE: B+
We too. We are now above 90 inches, which is record-breaking for Detroit. When combined with the temps, it is the worst winter in Detroit’s history. Yes, good music is essential.
Patti, all the schools and Colleges have closed today as the blizzard approaches. We’re expecting over 12 inches of snow in the next few hours! I think everyone in the Northeast is tired of this Winter.
Patti, I saw that on TWC last night and thought of you and Phil. That’s why we stayed an extra week in Florida! I hate this winter.
Jeff, we’re well over 100 inches of snow for this winter. And now this latest storm is dumping another foot of snow on us!
We’re under normal for rain this winter season, thought triple the usual for February-March to date. Snow? We had a couple of snows, one a three day affair, the other a melt the next day. That’s fine with us.
As for the CD, I’m not a huge fan of arias, and I have one of those “greatest arias” CDs that I just about never listen to. So this one would be a no buy for me. However it does sound like a nice thing to listen to after dealing with the snow storm.
Rick, in the 135 years Buffalo has keeping weather statistics, this is the first year we’ve been hit by TWO blizzards in one Winter. We were pounded by the Polar Vortex a month ago, and now we’re getting socked again! We’re stars of THE WEATHER CHANNEL today.
Gosh, it’s like Spring here. Sunny, warm, and with a few wispy clouds. I think I’ll take Molly for a walk.
Bob, I just snowblowed a foot of snow off my driveway. But we’re going to get another 4-6 inches this evening so I’ll have to go out and do it again!
As Bob said. It IS Spring here. See my new blog post, something to cheer you up, looking forward to what’s just around the corner for you, George.
Rick, we’re going down a degree an hour. Wind chills tonight will be in the -20 degree range!
Upstate NY has definitely been #1 on TWC. It is nuts this winter.
So bizarre to see it light out at 7:30 with all the snow and temps near zero. Climate change indeed.
Jeff, I’m just about to go out and snowblow again. The temperatures are dropping. We’re looking at -20 wind chill temperatures tomorrow morning.
Patti, the past couple of Marches we received zero snow. This March: 20 inches and counting! Climate change, indeed.
