After the 37-22 beat-down that the New England Patriots put on the Bills last Sunday, the Bills suddenly find themselves facing a team they might be able to defeat. The Minnesota Vikings don’t have suspended All-World running back, Adrian Peterson, and are playing a rookie quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater. The Bills need a win badly: they’re already two games behind the Patriots in the AFC East standings. How will your favorite NFL team do today?
The anemic 2-3 Saints travel to Detroit to take on the more robust Lions. I don’t have much hope for a win and am cursing the efficiency with which the Kansas City Royals and the San Francisco Giants dispatched their competition in the league championships–there’s not even a baseball game to distract me. Sigh!
Deb, the Lions are up and down. The Bills got lucky in Detroit a couple weeks ago and beat the Lions. The Saints can win, but they need to bring their “A” game. I’m pulling for the Royals.
The Cowboys have a toughie against the Giants. The Giants will want to bounce back after a bad loss, and the ‘Boys might have a letdown after the big win against the Seahawks. The Texans have to face the Steelers. I don’t think Ryan Fitzpatrick can get the job done for them.
Bill, ESPN is playing a recording of Jerry Jones predicting a “win” over the Giants. When Ryan Fitzpatrick played for the Bills, he was good enough to keep the team competitive…but they still lost.
Seahawks vs. Rams today. I won’t be home to see it, or any of the games, but as crummy as the Seahawks have looked the last couple of games, they should beat the wounded Rams. As for the Series, of course we’re pulling for the Giants. It’s a west coast thing.
Rick, my brother will be attending the Vikings vs. Bills game. The game should be rain-free, but the temperature will be around 50 degrees. I’ll keep an eye on the games during the day, but I have computer work to do for my online classes.
Then again, the Seahawks could do a complete collapse (just heard they are behind 20-6 or something like that. Bah. I won’t stop rooting for them, but it is discouraging.
We got the roses pruned before we left this morning. I’m posting this from Barbara’s SmatPhn thingie.. Now we’re heading east from Salem towards Mackenzie River for a hike.
Just as well I didn’t stay home. I don’t know why the Seahawks are falling apart, any more than I understand why they traded Harvin a few days ago. What the hell?
Rick, the rumors here are that Harvin was toxic in the locker room. His teammates couldn’t stand him. And the Rams are an underrated team.
George, I heard a little of that toxic discussion on the lead-in to Sunday Night Football. By the way, Denver looks really strong again this year. Yay for that Buffalo win.
Rick, the Bills got lucky. Really, really lucky. They had four turnovers and gave up six sacks. Under normal conditions, that would have spelled DEFEAT. But Kyle Orton’s last second (literally!) TD pass saved the day.
