Back in 1970, I was delighted listening to Van Morrison’s His Band and the Street Choir. This album included some of my favorite Van Morrison songs: “Domino,” “Blue Money,” and “Street Choir.” This new remastered and expanded CD sounds fabulous! The BONUS TRACKS are fun to listen to. Van Morrison was riding the success of Astral Weeks and Moondance. This album solidified his career. What’s your favorite Van Morrison song?

I’m partial to “Brown-eyed Girl.”
Bill, I love “Brown-Eyed Girl” too!
Bill, you’re not the only one – for me too it was typical for the roaring 60s when I was a freewheelin’ student …
And many people all over the world think the same:

Interesting and sad in a way that Morrison was also a victim there of some unscrupulous people in the record business …
PS and a bit OT:
Today our tv channel 3sat shows 24 hours of pop/rock concerts – we’ve already seen and heard Joe Bonamassa, Tina Turner, the Rolling Stones, Ringo Starr and others…
Bruce Springsteen is next and Eric Clapton will also appear tonight …
Happy New Year, everybody!
Wolf, Happy New Year to you! 24 hours of pop/rock concerts sounds like a good way to begin the New Year!
Lots of good music from Van.
Patti, I have almost all of van Morrison’s albums. Excellent music!
My favorites are “Moon Dance,” “Domino,” and the somewhat more obscure “Jackie Wilson Said (I’m in Heaven when You Smile).”
My husband’s favorite is “Brown-Eyed Girl” for sentimental reasons. (Guess what color my eyes are?)
Deb, my wife’s favorite Van Morrison son is “Moon Dance” too. Her favorite Van Morrison album is WAVELENGTH. Your husband is a charmer!
It’s definitely his tribute to The Fat Man, “Domino.” I do also like “Brown Eyed Girl” (which Jimmy Buffett will be singing tonight, as he always does), “Wild Night,” “Moondance,” “Here Comes the Night” and “Gloria” (from his Them period), and “Jackie Wilson Said.”
Jeff, they could make of Broadway musical based on the Van Morrison songs you listed! Have fun at the Jimmy Buffett concert!
hard to pick a favorite probably domino or moon dance
Maggie, you have great taste in music!
I like Moondance and Brown Eyed Girl too, but my favorite may be Into the Mystic.
Rick, I love when the organ in “Into the Mystic” makes that foghorn sound. Classic.
It’s too late to choose now, George!
(That’s a Van Morrison joke, son…–Kenny Delmar as Sen. Claghorne)
Todd, you are so witty! Happy New Year!
Much too kind, sir.
