If it’s any indication how off-kilter our weather is (even for southern Louisiana in December), our air conditioner is running right now! Also, the heater went out in my van two months ago and I still haven’t taken it in to be fixed because the weather hasn’t been cold enough to make driving without heat uncomfortable. And, finally, when I let our dog out this morning, a FROG nonchalantly hopped into the laundry room (causing me to have to chase it, capture it in an upside down glass, and set it free outside). A frog! In December!
Scott, thanks for the warm Holiday Wishes. You can come to my house anytime to unwrap presents! Merry Christmas to you and your family. And Happy Anniversary to you, too!
Merry Christmas to you and the family, hope you have enjoyed the day, and will share the loot with us all in a post. With just the two of us, it’s a leisurely morning, coffee, open a few gifts, breakfast, enjoying a dry day. A walk is forthcoming. I’ll be making prime rib for dinner, with the usual sides, au jus, and triple chocolate mint brownies for dessert, which I made yesterday. I received 9 books (post coming soon).
Starting tomorrow, the bowl games really get going. I’ll miss a significant amount of reading time with that.
Geirge, thanks again for your blog. I read and enjoy it every day, it’s a gift to us all.
Merry Christmas and best wishes for the next years from Hungary too!
And many thanks to George for the interesting topics he chooses to put up here and also to the commenters which add some fascinating stuff!
The Xmas weather seems to be really crazy all around the world this year – just read about those 14 deaths because of the storms and tornadoes in the USA right now.
PS:
Took me a few minutes to make it clear to my wife that I’m not watching some freaky porn here …
Wolf, tornadoes for Christmas are rare events. But on the plus side, I’ve seen plenty of people walking around in shorts! If this were a Normal Christmas they’d be risking frost-bite with antics like that! Just tell your wife that this blog is an “educational” site! And wish her a Merry Christmas from me and my family! Your comments add a lot to the blog conversations! I’m so happy you discovered my blog and decided to participate!
Thanks, George – I had to blush reading your answer …
Don’t know if/when we might make it to the States again – but it sure is on our wish list …
In the meantime I’m on several English language sites, polishing my language skills and having fun too!
Wolf, if you’re ever in the vicinity of Niagara Falls, we’d be happy to meet with you and take you to dinner! Plenty of great restaurants here! And, if Katie’s here at that them, she’s fluent in German.
I’d have a VERY merry Christmas if I found something like that under my tree!!!
Bob, Merry Christmas (and Festivus) to you and your family!
Did you have to put up two very sheer stockings to get that this Xmas, George? And a very merry Christmas to you and yours.
Jerry, the same to you and your family. Ho, ho, ho!
That’s a gift that would make a few days merry and bright. Happy holidays!
Bill, Happy Holidays to you and your family, too!
Have the happiest of days, George and Diane!
Patti, thanks for your kind holiday wishes. We have a long list of movies we want to see!
George, I keep telling you these are private photos!
Merry Christmas to you and your family–especially to Diane, the world’s most understanding wife.
Deb, Merry Christmas to you and your family from me and my world-class understanding wife!
And Christmas Cheer right back atcha!
Dan, hope your grilling turned out well! Today is supposed to be even warmer than yesterday! Merry Christmas!
Have a great Christmas, George and Diane. And same to the visitor under the tree.
Jeff, our door is always open to the needy. Happy Holidays to you and Jackie and your family! Enjoy this astonishing weather!
