The Bills lost their best offensive player, wide receiver Sammy Watkins, for 8 weeks because of a foot problem. The Patriots will be without Tom Brady who is serving his Deflategate suspension. Many fans thought that Head Coach Bill Belichick would lose games with Brady gone, but the Patriots are 3-0 using backup QBs. I think it’s time Bill Belichick is acknowledged as a great coach. How will your favorite NFL do today?
I haven’t been really watching any football this season, so not sure who the Pack is playing, but hope they win. I’m hoping Deb’s Saints win today. Hope your Bills pull off a win, George. Sorry, Jeff I can’t bring myself to root for the Giants with Eli there.
Maggie, the Bills face an uphill battle in New England this weekend. I’m not optimistic.
The 0-3 Saints head to San Diego to take on the Chargers. Since the team has already statistically eliminated itself from any hope of playoff contention, word around town is Sean Payton will soon be joining (former LSU coach) Les Miles in the unemployment line. Who knows? As of today, Payton is still the coach. Anyway, I have no hope for this game or the team in general. I will probably watch some of the last games of the regular baseball season.
Deb, I would love it if Sean Payton became coach of the Buffalo Bills!
Houston lost the best defensive player in the league, J. J. Watt, for the season. Not good. Dallas doesn’t seem to have much of a defense even with all their players. So I don’t have high hopes for the season.
Bill, the WALL STREET JOURNAL had a statistic that the Dallas Cowboys are 2-8 when both Romo and Dez Bryant are out.
The Seahawks are playing the Jets and as far as I can figure it, it’s anybody’s game. Russell Wilson is twice-injured, the rest of the team is injured, the offense has been lousy but the defense is still good. The Jets? Who knows.
Maggie, your Chargers play the Saints, surely you’ll not root against them? Deb, I think this is your team’s week to win one. Down 3 isn’t statistically eliminated by a long shot.
George, the Bills don’t have a good shot, but that’s why they play the games.
Rick the chargers aren’t MY chargers. I detest the spanos family, and while I wish they wouldn’t use the team as a farm team for other owners willing to pay for good players, that’s how they’ve done for years. They kept the super petty aj smith around far too long, got rid of any good player. Look what happened to Drew Brees when the chargers cut him: super bowl win.
Spanos just came out and said unless they get their downtown stadium, he’s gone. The current stadium site is perfect, and the stupid city fathers have given the team essentially free play there for years. The city has paid thru the nose. Spanos said it’s not worth it for the team to be there only 8 games a year. The city does use it for car sales, moto cross, other things. which only helps pay the city back for all the expenses we tax payers have paid over the years.
The most chilling feature of the spanos is their willingness to pay millions to get a stadium in la, but not in SD. Now that LA has the rams, they don’t want them either.
Maggie, the rumors are that the Oakland Raiders will move to Las Vegas and the Chargers will move either to L.A. or Oakland.
Rick, I’m hoping the Seahawks defeat the Jets.
I guarantee 100% the Giants will NOT lose today. They won’t win either. They play Monday night in Minnesota, and after the loss to the Redskins last week it looks like another long season, especially with the Eagles looking better.
Jeff, I’m surprised by the Vikings and the Eagles. Both seem to have solved their QB problems.
Go, Bills! They are still pitching a shutout.
Jeff–sorry to use George’s blog to alert you, but in the last two days, all of my emails to you have been kicked back with “aol cannot deliver this message.” I’m still receiving your emails, but can’t reply. Don’t know what’s going on–aol suddenly hates me! But please don’t take me off your email list–I love reading all the links.
Jeff, this is the first time the Patriots have been shutout in Gillette Stadium. EVER!
Sorry about that. I’ve occasionally had that before. Sometimes it won’t deliver my emails (usually to Maggie).
Bills will win big! Seahawks will win! And for the first time in decades I’m hoping for hated Dallas to win!
Bob, you’re three for three: the Seahawks, Bills, and Cowboys all won!
Nice win for your Bills, George. I’m amazed they shut out NE. I also saw a highlight of the Seahawks game and Wilson looked pretty good.
Rick, it’s amazing to me that the Jets can play great one week and suck the next.
Whaddya know–Saints win! Whoo-hoo!
Deb, and the Saints put up a lot of points! Congratulations!
Since two of the games I predicted were over, they were easy calls! The Cowpies came through and beat the Niners! I used to like the Niners, but not now!
Bob, Chip Kelly may be looking for work soon!
