Loved ZOOTOPIA too. Haven’t seen the others yet. We see most of our movies the two months in Florida and scattered through the year. What with the hassle of going to the theater and dealing with the other patrons, there are just not that many things that can’t wait for Netflix or cable for us.
We’ve just gotten out of the habit of regular movie going like you and Patti.
After I see it Wed., I’m sure it will be LaLa Land. I did also enjoy Fantastic Beasts. I’ll hopefully have the new Star Wars movie on the list after I see it.
I’m like Jeff, I can easily wait for netflix, hbo, etc. But other patrons isn’t usually an issue because I go to the first Matinee of the day, and have very rarely had more than 20 other people.
Seeing LaLa Land will be different. It’s at the loft in La Jolla (going with nancy and her mom). It a very upscale with delivered meals that are very tasty (based on eating at the restaurant after we saw Girl on a Train there). It’s kind of sticker shock for me as the bargain Matinee is $10, and I usually pay $6 at AMC or Regal.
It’s fairly hard to see movies here during the holiday shopping season because ALL of the theaters that have matinees are in shopping centers. Parking is at a premium.
the place we’re going to see lala land is a very small one, and upscale/pricey, and even that theater has no parking on bargain wed.
Maggie, i’m with you on seeing some movies on the Big Screen. It’s a totally different experience.
Cap'n Bob
When saw the coming attractions for Zootopia and they ripped off Bob and Ray’s Slow Talkers of America sketch, I crossed it off my list! I can’t think of anything I saw in 2016 that was memorable, although I don’t go that often!
The Arrival
The Handmaiden
Hacksaw Ridge
Manchester By the Sea
La La Land
Hell or High Water
Haven’t seen The Silence or Nocturnal Animals yet.
Steve, excellent list! I’m sure some of the films on your list will be Oscar winners!
I am waiting to see FENCES before compiling my list.
Patti, I’m reading FENCES right now. Hopefully, we can to the theater and see the movie version this week.

Jeff, you have a lot of great movies to watch in the weeks ahead!

Maggie, hopefully the success of LA LA LAND will spur the making of more musicals.

Maggie, Diane and I go to matinees mostly. Many times we’re the only ones in the theater!
Haven’t been to the theater in 2016, though of course Barbara did, she goes with a friend of hers.
Rick, you’re missing some good movies! ZOOTOPIA should be seen on the Big Screen!
The movies I see in theaters are usually ones that need to be seen on a big screen

Bob, that Slow Talkers routine is a set-up for another funny surprise later in the ZOOTOPIA.
It’s still a ripoff!
