BUFFALO BILLS VS. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Despite the fact that the New England Patriots enter this game having lost two games in a row (at Miami on that crazy play at the end of the game and at Pittsburgh a week ago), the Patriots are 13 and 1/2 point favorites over the Buffalo Bills. The Bills started six rookies last week in their one-point win over the Detroit Lions. Clearly, the Bills are auditioning players for 2019. How will your favorite NFL do today?

Last Sunday the Saints limped to a win over the Panthers. Not the prettiest victory of the year, but it gave the now 12-2 Saints the best record in the NFL. The Saints need to win both of their final games (Steelers today, Panthers again next week) to be assured of a bye week and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Because the Panthers benched Cam Newton after last week’s loss (I’m sure he’s been playing injured, but now the Panthers have no playoff hopes, what would be the point of leaving Newton out there?), I’m not that worried about a Saints win next week, but today’s game with the Steelers is going to be a nail biter because, with the Ravens win yesterday, the Steelers HAVE to win today to keep pace. They’ve been an inconsistent team this season, but with the playoffs on the line, I expect Pittsburgh to come out swinging.

Deb, the Pittsburgh Steelers are a dangerous team capable of putting up a lot of points. The Steelers’ defense has been erratic this season. The Saints better be ready for a real tussle!

Well, since I’m in Baltimore, I am really rooting for the Saints today! The Ravens are doing what they need to do — I did not expect them to beat the Chargers last night.

Jeff, the Ravens played a great game against a great team. I don’t think the Chargers were prepared for what the Ravens surprised them with!

So the Giants jumped out to a 14-0 firrst quarter lead, led virtually start to finish and managed to lose, 28-27.

After the pathetic performance against the hated 49ers last week, I expect the Seahawks to get their butts kicked handily, not that I’ll be watching!
