After a decade of futility, the Buffalo Bills start the 2010 NFL season with most fans doubting the team’s ability to win. Many experts predict the Bills will only win three or four games this season. If such prognostications prove to be wrong, the factor that may surprise the experts is Bills rookie First Round Draft Pick C. J. Spiller. Spiller showed flashes in the dismal preseason games that he had game-breaking ability. Some of his runs were highlight reel material. If the Bills win games, Spiller will have to be their star running back. Good luck to all of your NFL teams this season!
Good luck. Everyone around here is touting the Jets as a Super Bowl team but let’s see how the season plays out. I’m hoping the Giants are better than the .500 record I’ve seen predicted but I don’t forsee another Super Bowl this year.
Dozens of variables determine whether an NFL team wins or loses, Jeff. Barry Gardner always harped on injuries as the key factor.
The Lions will need more than luck to do better than 3 and 13. That luck has proved elusive over the last fifty years.
The Lions have better players now, Patti. I think they’re going to surprise some people this season.
I say Go Chargers! They play KC tomorrow night. There are teams I like and root for, but the Chargers are the “home team” of choice here, and I once had season tickets. I am also very interested to see what the Seahawks will do this season.
Don’t get your hopes to high for the Bills, George, they have becomes one of those teams who seem to struggle at the bottom third of their division year after year. I do hope Spiller provides some life and light, and that he stays injury-free.
C. J. Spiller had a dreadful opening game, Rick. He ran 11 times for 14 yards. And the Bills lost.
Bills aren’t doing too well so far.
The Bills made it close, but they couldn’t run the ball or pass it, Jeff. Next week, the Bills will be crushed by the Green Bay Packers.
Seahawks kicked 49er butt. I hope they play this well against better teams. Like you, I don’t have a lot of hope for the Bills, George. Too bad, because I like them.
Bills fans are a long suffering band of brothers, Bob. This is looking like a repeat of last year’s 6-10 season.
George, I’ve heard this rumor: The Los Angeles Bills!
I’ve heard that rumor, too, Drongo. And, there’s always Toronto that wants an NFL team. But I doubt if either L.A. or Toronto fans will buy tickets to see this woeful team like Bills fans do.
At least the Giants woke up and avenged last year’s humiliating loss to the Panthers.
Yes, the Giants woke up and won, Jeff. Some experts consider the Panthers one of worse teams in the NFL. But, I’d nominate the Bills.
And the Cowboys lost. Excellent!
I tuned out after that bonehead play at the end of the First Half, Jeff. What were those coaches thinking???
Wade Phillips is not my idea of a coaching genius. And I can’t stand Jerry Jones.
Wade was the last Bills coach that took the team to the playoffs–ten years ago, Jeff. But, the pressure to win in Dallas has to be enormous.
Especially with Jerry constantly looking over your shoulder, often literally so.
Jerry Jones is a “hands-on” owner, Jeff. That might be why the Cowboys haven’t won a playoff game in 10 years or so.
