BOB’S RED MILL LOW-CARB BAKING MIX & DA VINCI SUGAR-FREE PANCAKE SYRUP

As a diabetic, I’m always on the lookout for low carb products that taste great. I’ve been eating Bob’s Red Mill Golden Flax Seeds for years (great source of Omega-3!). But now I’ve discovered Bob’s Red Mill Lo-Carb Baking Mix. It makes delicious pancakes with just 7 net carbs! And, what would pancakes be without pancake syrup? My favorite low-carb pancake syrup is Da Vinci Sugar-Free Pancake Syrup. Zero carbs! And it tastes just like real pancake syrup. Try this tasty combination and you’ll end up with a happy tummy and a smile on your face!

I eat the same breakfast day in and day out. Half a container of Greek yogurt, half a cup of fruit, and two tbsp of Trader Joe’s Ginger, almond granola. I would love to have pancakes if someone would make them. Phil doesn’t eat breakfast at all.

I’ll be blogging about Greek yogurt next week, Patti. If you visit Western New York again, I’ll make you and Phil a pancake breakfast!

Me, too. We just use Bisquick, Smart Balance and Trader Joe’s Vermont Amber Maple Syrup. Since we allow ourselves pancakes / waffles only once every 2 or 3 months, I don’t worry too much about the carbs and sugar that infrequently. It’s the every day stuff we watch carefully.

That breakfast of Patti’s sound loaded with carbs and sugars (the granola is heavy on both). Wow. I eat a piece of fruit and a small container of Greek yogurt in the morning. Once or twice a week it’s an egg poached, on a slice of Dave’s Killer Bread.

Rick, Real Maple Syrup tends to be a killer with up to 50 grams of carbs per serving. The Da Vinci Sugar-Free Pancake Syrup tastes great with zero carbs.

Way better, Todd. I’m a big fan of all the Da Vinci sugarless syrup flavorings. During the Holidays, I went wild with their Sugar-Free Eggnog flavoring. Yum!

Although I’m not a pancake/waffle person, I’m a huge fan of Bob’s Red Mill products–in fact, even as I type, I have a package of Bob’s red lentils simmering with some other ingredients to make curried lentils. After reading your post, I did a quick check of my pantry; in addition to the lentils, I also have Bob’s granola, hot cereal mix with flaxseeds, vegi-bean soup mix, and garbanzo bean flour. They have a very comprehensive product line available on their website.

Curried lentils…yum! Deb, I use several of Bob’s Red Mill products, too. Some are too high in carbs for me to eat on a regular basis, but their whole grain line is excellent.

I {heart} Greek yogurt. For protein and fiber I eat a container with a quarter cup of Kellogg’s All Bran (5 grams of fiber) every day. At home I usually eat 3/4 of a cup of Kellogg’s Complete Bran Flakes (another 5 grams) with either a banana or berries. Breakfast is an important meal, you should have something, preferably with some protein.

On the road I skip the Complete and have scrambled eggs with either an English muffin or multi-grain toast with a little chunky peant butter and, when they have it, one sausage patty.

The only pancakes we have is once on the road each way, and possibly once or twice while we’re here – IHOP’s harvest grain pancakes.

I’ll make you and Jackie some delicious pancakes, too, Jeff, next time you’re in our neighborhood. All the research shows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

I’ve never seen these products in my area-Michigan. I’m also diabetic but have the problem of being skinny in the first place. If I cut out carbs I lose too much weight so I have to find a right balance which is pretty hard to do. Vegetables, fruit and lean meat, fish just don’t provide enough calories for me.

How can you make pancakes without carbohydrates? What’s this stuff made of, dehydrated tofu, finely ground styrofoam packing peanuts?
