BUFFALO BILLS VS. BALTIMORE RAVENS

Many “experts” and sports pundits have named the Buffalo Bills as the Worst Team in the NFL this season. The reasons: an inexperienced quarterback–Nathan Peterman–and a shaky offensive line. Nathan Peterman famously threw FIVE interceptions in the First Half his first NFL start last year against the L.A. Chargers. Two of the starters in last year’s offensive line are gone. Even the most ardent Bills fans are worried. The Bills are 7 1/2 point underdogs to the Ravens today. How will your favorite NFL team perform today?

The Lions don’t play until Monday night. I expect little out of them again this year. At best an 8/8 season.

Steve, the Lions opponents on Monday Night Football, the NY Jets, play three games in 11 days! Someone in NFL Scheduling has it in for the Jets!

We’re in St. Petersburg so I am not paying attention to the Giants the way I would at home, but they are going to have to prove they’re for real on the field before I start to believe it.

    I expect nothing.

The Saints take on the Buccaneers in the Superdome. There’s a feeling in the air that this season might be quarterback Drew Brees’s last hurrah—he’s almost 40 and only signed a one-year contact renewal, plus the Saints recently acquired Teddy Bridgewater as a backup QB. The Saints did pretty good during preseason games, but we’ll see what happens now the season has started. As usual, until the World Series is over, baseball will take precedence over football in my brain.

Deb, a lot of “experts” are picking the Saints to go to the Super Bowl this year. They should have made it last year expect for that flukey play in Minnesota!

“On brave old Buffalo Bills” Offensive Line is the foundation of football teams. Aside from raw talent, their coordination is critical. That takes lots of time and practice. Could be a long season for you, a passionate Bills fan.

j.padrig, we Buffalo Bills fans are a long-suffering bunch. Rookie QB Josh Allen is the Future, but we’re going to have to struggle to get there.

I see you like to put the word expert in quotes.

I think the Bills, who were much improved only a season or two ago, will have a tough go of it this year. I think the same is true of the dismantled Seahawks, who have failed to address their number one need, offensive line, for three years, while letting most of the fine defense go. Those who analyze pro football project the Seahawks to finish at the bottom of the NFC West, below Rams, ‘Niners and Arizona. That sounds about right to me, considering their schedule. They open against Denver at Denver today, but Denver has it’s own (QB) problems, so who knows.

Rick, I think all NFL teams have problems. And, as the season goes on, the injuries mount and the problems multiply. The “experts” last year picked the Bills to go 4-12. Instead, the Bills went 9-7 and made the Playoffs for the first time in 17 years. I’m not expecting that kind of result this season, but the Bills may surprise some teams.

We are out and about – plus we’re on the West Coast of Florida – but I see the Giants are down 13-6 at the half, so the offense is about as good as it was last year.

    Sad.

Jeff, the Bills were pummeled by the Ravens 47-3. The only positive was that rookie QB Josh Allen entered the game in the Third Quarter. He needs to play and learn how to be an NFL quarterback.

Deb, former Buffalo Bill QB Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for over 400 yards against the Saints. I’m sure Bills fans wished Fitzpatrick was still part of our team!

Nice defense, New Orleans! I was waiting for Jackie in Macy’s and a random old guy told me the Bucs were ahead 48-24. Not good.

Also, so much for the “new” Giants’ offense.

Rick, I’m not at all surprised by the Bills and their dismal outing against the Ravens. This is going to be another “rebuilding” year.

and…Seahawks manage to blow some chances, but honestly, the officials called the Bronco receiver out of bounds, then when the player bounced and cried, changed to a TD. The replay CLEARLY showed his foot out of bounds. So take that phony TD away, and Seahawks win. B A H !!

Most Gelding wins against the Seahawks stem from bad officiating! I don’t care, though; I watch college games! They don’t kneel during the anthem!

Wow! It seems you guys really care for this kind of sports. 🙂
As a foreigner who had the rules explained on my first business trip to the USA (more than 30 years ago – still remember it fondly …) and forgot about them I won’t /can’t comment, but as long as you enjoy it…
