BUFFALO BILLS VS. BALTIMORE RAVENS

baltimore ravens vs. buffalo bills
I think the Buffalo Bills lead the League in players who are serving 4-game drug suspensions. Another player, facing a possible suspension for domestic abuse, was cut this week. Despite all of this chaos, Head Coach Rex Ryan projects an air of confidence. Bills fans know much of the 2016 season will be determined by what the Bills do today in Baltimore. Rex Ryan has a 6-1 record in Opening Day games. How is your favorite NFL team going to do today?

Your guess is as good as mine. In recent years the Giants have a history of going to Dallas, playing like crap, and snatching disastrous loss from the jaws of victory.

I guess we’ll see if they do it again this afternoon.

Jeff, I had my doubts about Denver starting a rookie QB against Cam Newton and the Panthers. Yet, the Broncos won. The Cowboys are starting a rookie QB. Maybe they will be just as potent.

After a dismal preseason filled with injuries to key players, lackluster play on the field, and not a single win, the Saints open their season as they meet the Raiders in the Superdome. Of course, as always at the start of a new season, anything is possible, but I have no great confidence in what the boys in black and gold will accomplish this fall. Besides, it’s still baseball season. I really can’t get into football until after the World Series.

Deb I’m hoping the Saints crush the (hated here) raiders.

When the raiders play here there is a great tv ad showing doors being bolted, security grates being fastened, etc. The captioning says something like most folks hate it when the raiders come to town, but we look forward to it. The ad is for a bail bond firm

Bill, when Rex Ryan hired his brother Rob to help with the dismal Bills defense, many fans were dismayed. The Bills need to start fast and win these early games. The schedule gets much harder after mid-season.

I didn’t watch any pre-season games, and I think I’ll just keep on with that. I figure if I don’t turn on the TV today I’ll have 9.5 hours of reading time instead. The weather should be nice and I may sit out on the deck with my current book, some iced tea, and bird song for background. Enjoy your games, everyone!

Believe me, Rick, I don’t intend to watch either.

Besides, we’ll be leaving for New Orleans tomorrow so may start packing.

We’ll leave here 3 pm NY time and get in around 5 Central time (6 our time). I’m afraid it’s going to be one big food fest. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course. Maggie is also arriving Monday but I think most people are coming in on Wednesday.

So, basically the Jets lost because they couldn’t kick a short field goal or an extra point.

Pathetic. As I predicted. the Giants are losing in Dallas.

Good to hear that the Giants beat hated Dallas! The Seahawks played poorly but eked out a win in the final minutes! The Mariners also won, so it’s good new for the home fans all around!

As for New Orleans, I canceled my Bouchercon plans when I saw that the twits running that town voted to remove statues of Confederate war heroes, including Robert E. Lee! You people may not care, but I won’t give my tourist dollars to asshats like that!

I just saw the Seattle score. Glad I didn’t bother watching. I sorta remember when they had some offense. Plus their only QB, not counting a rookie and no 3rd stringer, is now injured. Swell.

I care, Rick. Sadly, I think very few others do.

No Toronto for me, George! I’m only going to cons that are within convenient driving distance, if those. I’ve been rather disappointed with B’con lately!
