After the Buffalo Bills managed a last second (literally!) field goal to snatch a 13-12 Victory from the jaws of the Tennessee Titans the week was dominated by trade rumors. The Philadelphia Eagles, who lost their starting running back Jay Ajayi to a torn ACL, contacted the Bills about a trade for troubled running back LeSean McCoy. McCoy has plenty of off-field problems with abuse accusations by his former girlfriend. McCoy is also 30-years-old–ancient by running back standards. Our local Sports Talk radio station answered dozens of fan phone calls advocating trading or keeping McCoy.
Meanwhile, Vegas made Buffalo a 10-point underdog to the Houston Texans. How will your favorite NFL perform today?
They will have a great day! That is, they won’t be on the field, having disgraced themselves Thursday night against the Eagles. The Giants’ season is over, period.
Jeff, if the Bills lose today, they’re going to be in the same boat as the Giants.
Maybe the Bills and the Lions will be 3 and 3 at the end of the day.
Patti, overcoming a 10-point spread is difficult, especially on the road. It would be great if both the Lions and the Bills won today!
The 4-1 Saints have a bye week and won’t be playing today, so I’ll be able to watch the Houston Astros play the Boston Red Sox—the only post-season baseball being played today.
Deb, the weather in the Northeast has turned wet and chilly. Expect some rain delays in Boston.
LSU pulled off quite the upset yesterday. Let’s hope the Astros make quick work of the Red Sox.
Jeff, the Astros are going to have to cope with some FALL temps in Boston! And maybe rain!
The twins were at the LSU game. Julia almost got trampled when the students rushed the field at the end of the game!
Deb, that LSU win was sensational!
Seahawks play the Raiders…in London. I don’t believe the Brits will ever get interested in American Football, but the NFL keeps trying. In vain, I hope. Meanwhile, I’ll skip the game. I have some yard work and (library ebook) reading to do. Baseball: don’t care about Houston or Boston, but we’re rooting for the Dodgers.
Rick, I’m with you on those London games. Useless.
Remind me not to bet on any prognostications made here! Go, Red Sox!
Bob, the Bills beat the 10-point spread, but lost 20-13.
