BUFFALO BILLS VS. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS [CBS] and LA RAMS VS. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS [NBC]

Yes, I know there’s an NFL Playoff game at 3:00 P.M. today between the LA Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the game all Buffalo Bills fans are waiting for is the Bills vs. Chiefs game with a 6:30 P.M. kickoff. The Chiefs are 3-point favorites. But the weather forecast for 36 degrees with mild winds beats last Saturday’s arctic conditions when the Bills put a beat-down on the Patriots. Of course, I’m rooting for the Bills, but I’m under no illusion that the Chiefs will make this a Tough Game. Go Bills!

Can Tom Brady do it again? The LA Rams destroyed the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football Playoff Edition 34-11. But the Buccaneers are tough to beat at home. The Bucs are favored by 2 1/2 points. This could be an Overtime game! I’m going with the Rams.

Who do you think will win these games?

Bucs and Bills, baby! Bucs and Bills.

Meanwhile, in our house we’re still euphoric about the Joe Burrow (excuse me, “Burreaux”)-led Bengals’ win over the Titans yesterday. It wasn’t pretty (and Cincinnati needs to vastly improve its O-line), but it got the job done. And it was quite satisfying to see “covidiot” Aaron Rodgers’s team go down to defeat. I try not to be petty (ha!), but I really didn’t fancy seeing an anti-vaxxer/covid-denier/“Do my own medical research on Facebook” type hoisting the Lombardi trophy this year.

Deb, ESPN “experts” are in shock over the defeat of Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Apparently, none of them saw that coming. I was on the edge of my seat for much of the Cincinnati vs. Tennessee game! Joe Burrow took a beating–nine sacks!–but led his team into winning field goal territory. The MVP is kicker Evan McPherson!

Nine sacks, Deb! And yet they pulled it out anyway. I was so pleased by the end of the Niners-Packers game. Everyone said the Green Bay special teams (sic) were “special” in all the wrong ways, and boy were they right! Just an appalling performance.

Definitely going with the Bills for the upset (but is it, really?) today, and I don’t think the Bucs are where they were last year. So going with the Rms.

Jeff, I’m guessing Aaron Rodgers will be leaving Green Bay after last night’s debacle. Art Scott is celebrating the big 49ers’ win!

Can we be lucky enough to have these games match the drama of yesterday? Probably not, but I’m going with the visitors again today.

Yay toughest conference in the NFL, the NFC West! Yay 49ers! Go Rams! I was SO happy to see the Packers go down last night. We lost Fox for the last 10 minutes of the first half, so I didn’t know about the blocked field goal till later, but that blocked kick pick 6 was fabulous. I was sorry to see the injuries, though.

Today, I’m pulling for Rams and… ? I like both the other teams, so hoping for a good game, no injuries, no dumb, game-changing penalties.

I was very happy to see the results of yesterdays games, especially the packers loss. One of my cousins was a HUGE packers fan, and I’m glad he didn’t live to see what a jerk Rodgers has turned out to be (He died of covid in late Aug.)

Todays game, want the Rams to win. I’m torn with the other, as I normally root for the Bills for you, but the chiefs are my new team. (still like the saints, but Drew Brees was a big part of the team for me)

Maggie, a lot of people were happy Aaron Rodgers and the Packers lost. From how the game ended, I’m guessing Aaron Rodgers won’t be in Green Bay for very long.

Sorry about the Bills, George, but that is probably the most astonishing football game I’ve ever seen. They really ought to do something about those OT rules, though.

Michael, I knew when the Bills scored with 13 seconds left in the game that Mahomes had enough time to tie the game and send it into Overtime. Maybe next year…

0 for 2, Debbie. I hope you didn’t wager! Sorry about your cousin, Maggie.

I would have preferred to see both NFC West teams lose if only because they kept the Seahawks from being in the playoffs! That, and lousy Seahawk playing! The Bills-Chiefs game was a real nail-biter and I like both teams, but I wasn’t disappointed with the final score!

Sorry about the ending to the Bills game, George. I really thought they would pull it off, but I guess 13 seconds is too long to leave on the clock for Patrick Mahomes. I think every game this weekend came down to the final play—and all four were some of the most exciting post-season (non-Super Bowl) games I’ve seen in a long time. But I’m sure there’s little joy in Buffalo this morning.

Deb, there’s a deep pall over Western NY this morning. The Bills came close…but 13 seconds was enough for Mahomes to tie the game and send it into Overtime.

Rick, I agree. Four very entertaining games. The Bills lost in heartbreaking fashion. But, I’ll looking forward to Next Year in the NFL!
