Captain America follows in the groove set by Iron Man, Thor, and The Hulk. This isn’t much of a spoiler, but all of these movies have been prequels to The Avengers movie that should open May 2012 where all of these super-heroes will battle some sinister villain (or villains). I liked Tommy Lee Jones in Captain America. There are few surprises, but plenty of shooting. Rather than the grand, slick CGI effects of a movie like GREEN LANTERN, Captain America has a more gritty feel to it. Another perfect Summer Movie! What no Friends with Benefits?
Diane is angling to get me to see FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS possibly next week, Patti. I’m hoping one of Diane’s friends will go with her. After seeing the trailer, I feel like I’ve already seen the whole movie.
A very entertaining movie. Best superhero movie I’ve seen in a long time, but then I missed the summer’s other offerings.
Yes, CAPTAIN AMERICA comes close to being the perfect Summer Movie, Bill. I’ve enjoyed all of the MARVEL movies.
FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS did get better reviews than the similar Ashton Kutcher version that opened a couple of months ago, but there’s no way any guy would pay real money to see it…even for Mila Kunis.
NO STRINGS ATTACHED flopped, Jeff. Even with Natalie Portman, Ashton Kutcher couldn’t make that movie work. FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS sounds like a re-write of NO STRINGS ATTACHED.
