CAROLINA PANTHERS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

After two straight disappointing losses to the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the 7-6 Buffalo Bills find themselves barely in the Playoff picture. Today, the Bills take on the stumbling Carolina Panthers (5-8). The Bills need a win badly. Quarterback Josh Allen has a sprained ankle so he may or may not play today. If Allen can’t go, backup QB Mitch Trubisky–the former Chicago Bears quarterback–will have to engineer a win. The Bills are 10 1/2 point favorites. How will your favorite NFL team perform today?

After a much-needed win (sure it was against the Jets, but it was a win nonetheless) last week, the 6-7 Saints journey to Tampa to take on the 10-3 Buccaneers in tonight’s Sunday Night Football game. The Saints as currently constituted are no way the team that last season beat Tom Brady’s team twice. The Bucs are on a roll and I don’t expect the Saints to do too much to stop that steamroller tonight.

Deb, Sean Payton is on the Covid-19 list. If you remember the first game of the 2021 season, several Saint coaches tested positive and couldn’t be part of the game. The Saints shredded Aaron Rodgers and the Packers 38-3. The Saints seem to be kryptonite to Tom Brady so anything could happen tonight!

    One guess.

Correct! The Giants will host – and lose to – the Cowboys this afternoon. Daniel Jones is still out (and should probably be shut down for the rest of the season, because what’s the point?) and I don’t expect it to be as close as their near win in Dallas.

The Jets will lose in Miami.

    Our teams suck.

Go, Bills! They need to win today, badly.

Jeff, with the Patriot loss to the Colts last night, the Bills need a win against the Panthers today to set up next week’s game in Foxboro against the Patriots for the Conference title!

Because the Rams had 20+ players test positive, the Seahawks (who had 3) get to sit and wait until Tuesday, then play on 5 days rest the following Sunday. Bah. Not as if they’re going anywhere except home to watch other teams get good players with thr draft choices they traded away.

George, I think Trubisky is as good as Allen anyway.

@Jeff, it looks like the Giants & Jets have three picks in the first 10 of the coming draft.

Rick, Josh Allen, hampered by his ankle injury, insisted on playing and was 19 of 30 passes for 2 TDs and one INT. The Bills won 31-14. Trubisky will probably leave the Bills after the season is over and compete for a starting QB position.

I see the Bills are playing in their “red flannel jammies” uniforms. Surprised there are no buttons on the back for the drop-seat. They just made the first TD of the game, despite the silly looking unis. Best of luck to them.

Rick, but will the Giants and the Jets draft good players? NFL teams miss on First Round Draft Picks every year. For decades, the Bills were famous for squandering Draft picks and picking inferior players.
