CAROLINA PANTHERS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

After the disappointing loss to the New England Patriots last Sunday, the Buffalo Bills try again to win their first NFL game of the 2013 season. Dropped passes and 13 penalties killed any chance of defeating Tom Brady and the Patriots, although the Bills were leading until the game’s final moments. Cam Newton and the Panthers almost upset the Seattle Seahawks last week so this will be a tough game. The Bills’ porous secondary will be tested.

How will your favorite NFL team do today?

It’s the Manning Bowl in the Meadowlands and if the Giants don’t clean up their act – 6 turnovers in Dallas – they won’t fare any better.

I’m pulling for the Seahawks, but if they don’t play a lot better than they did last week, they’re dead pigeons.

Weather must be terrible in Tampa Bay–I switched on the Saints-Bucs game only to see another game (in the New Orleans viewing area? Heresy!) along with a message crawl that the start if the game has been postponed due to lightning!

Oh I was wrong–the game had started, the Saints were up 3-0 when the game was postponed. I was running errands and missed first part of game.

The Seahawks looked good, but the Niners shot themselves in the foot frequently with dropped passes, turnovers, and penalties.

If the ‘Hawks do reach the Superbowl, I hope the officials won’t sabotage them as they did the last time. The bastards.

The entire rest of the country hates the Portland – Tacoma – Seattle area, Bob, because it’s so nice here. I think the officiating has been has been pretty bad so far this season, lots of missed calls, inconsistent calls, flags when there should have been none, none when it was a clear penalty, etc. A lot of it seems to revolve around the newer rules about “player safety”. They could just switch it to flag football with baby taps and be safer. It’s like NASCAR putting a 35 miles per hour speed limit. Meanwhile pro hockey is as vicious as ever…
