CLEVELAND BROWNS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

Buffalo+Bills+v+Cleveland+Browns
The 6-5 Buffalo Bills face the 7-4 Cleveland Browns today. A week ago, Ralph Wilson Stadium had six feet of snow in it (over 220 tons!). Today, the temperature is 54 degrees! Talk about Global Warming! Both teams need this game to keep their slim Playoff dreams alive. How will your favorite NFL team fare today?

I think the Bills have a chance today.

The Giants should end their long losing streak in Jacksonville at 1.

For some inexplicable reason we are getting yet another San Diego Chargers game today, this one at Baltimore. The late game should be the best – New England at Green Bay. Brady & the Patriots are on a roll.

I agree, by the way. Our weather in the Northeast has been nuts lately. We could be near 60 tomorrow.

Jeff, after all that snow and cold, it will be over 50 degrees at Kick-off! Wacky weather is right. We get the New England vs. Green Bay game. I’m rooting for the Packers, but all of ESPN is picking the Patriots.

The pathetic 4-7 Saints limp into Pittsburg to take on the 7-4 Steelers. I don’t have much hope for the Saints–and, thanks to my early-seventies crush on Franco Harris, I’ve always had a soft spot for the Steelers. I daresay the game will be on in our house, but I’m getting a head start in writing my Christmas cards.

As for the weather, we have a saying in Louisiana, “Don’t like the weather right now? Stick around–it’s bound to change in the next few hours.”

Deb, plenty of NFL games start to be meaningless at this time of year. The loser of today’s Browns vs. Bills will pretty much be Out Of It. We just received our first Christmas card yesterday!

As Bob pointed out, Seattle already played, and won. Still they have the toughest remaining schedule in the NFL, with both Arizona and San Francisco ahead of them. Since the Cardinals play the pathetic Atlanta team, not much chance to catch up in NFC West. We get the Ravens game too, Jeff, though I think you get Ravens vs. Opponent, rather then Charger vs. opponet. It’s likely to be the best early game, though. Go Bills.

Oh–I must be psychic! I just walked into the den, Saints game on the TV, looked at the screen and saw Franco Harris in his #32 jersey, part of the 40th anniversary celebration of the ’74 Steelers. Excuse me while I pause for a moment of a la recherché du temps perdu.

Geez, Deb, I always thought Franco Harris was one of the ugliest guys in the NFL. It doesn’t help that I despise the Stealers. He played for the Seahawks for a season or two, but he was over the hill by then. I hope to see that Pats-Cheeseheads and I’ll be pulling for the Pats.

The Saints are all over Rothliesberger so far. Who can explain these thing?

And the Bills just went ahead 7-3.

How do you blow a 21-0 lead against a 1-10 team? The Giants found a way, including TWO fumbles for Jacksonville touchdowns.

Just pathetic. I did enjoy the Chargers comeback over Baltimore.
