COVID-19 BOOSTER SHOT

In a recent email, Jeff Meyerson mentioned that he and Jackie got the new Covid-19 Booster shots at Costco. I had no idea the Booster shot was available! No notice, no advertising, no doctors talking about the importance of getting the Booster. Thank goodness for Jeff giving me a heads up!

I had to go to Rite-Aid to pick up a prescription. “Do you have the Covid Booster shot?” I asked the pharmacist. “The Booster shots just arrived today,” the pharmacist answered. “When can I get one?” I said. “Right now,” the pharmacist replied.

So I filled out the insurance forms and then was taken back to the shot room. The pharmacist jabbed me and put a band-aid on the shot site. “The CDC is now recommending two Covid Booster shots per year,” he told me. “The Fall shot will be an updated formulation to deal with new Covid mutation strains.”

Are you going to get the Covid Booster shot?

I’m sure I will despite a lot of people saying negative things about them! I’m not worried about be tracked by an implant and I’m not convinced they’re effective, but I also don’t think it hurts to be cautious!

Ditto, Jerry. Our guy was Asian.

Got home Saturday, went to Costco on Tuesday, filled out the form and got our shots. No problemo.

Jeff, I did have a slight wait at Rite Aid, but the soreness in my arm is gone now and I’m feeling good. Diane sometimes has a reaction to the Booster shots.

J., Diane and I haven’t gotten Covid-19…and we don’t want to get it. I’m fine with the Booster shots every six months if they ward off Covid-19!

Yes. I need to get the Covid booster plus the RSV shot. I had an appointment scheduled for the RSV shot, but at the last minute, CVS texted me and cancelled it “due to unforeseen circumstances.” Hopefully, I can get both done in the next couple of weeks.

Deb, I got the RSV shot about a couple months ago. Thank goodness for the Meyerson’s alerting me to the availably of the Covid Booster shot! I can’t believe there’s no information about it anywhere around here!

We received ours in January. We had planned to get it last fall, but the pharmacies here were slow getting the updated vaccine, and we tested positive for Covid in the meantime, so waited three months per doctor’s recommendation. The needle was as long as the one in the photo, and the pharmacist looked just like the gal holding it. Not. I can’t understand the wilful stupidity of the anti-vaxxers (although the motives of those in power who control them are painfully obvious).

Fred, plenty of my Democratic friends are worried that RFK, Jr. will drain votes away from Biden despite his anti-vaccine beliefs.

Despite many cases of Covid being relatively minor, it is still a big deal. I lost a cousin to it in December. Plus the effects of and the extent of long-Covid are not truly known; it could have major consequences in the future. Get he shot! And if you happen to run into RFK Jr., stick your fingers in your ears and say, “La-la-la-la-la!”

Jerry, I totally agree with you! Friends of ours are still suffering with brain fog, heart, and lung problems a year after Covid-19 hit them. RFK, Jr. is a scary Wild Card that could tip the Election to Trump.

Next week I’ll meet my family doc to get the prescriptions for the new qarter. Then I’ll ask him about the new booster – if he has it available he’ll aply it, I_m sure.

Wolf, this Booster is the same as the Fall Booster shot. But the Centers of Disease Control is recommending getting the Booster as extra protection. A new Booster shot will be available six months from now to address the new Covid-19 variants.
