Nice. What drives Jackie crazy when we walk around here is the people who have their lawns paved over or otherwise taken out. She is definitely a lawn person. There is a beautiful big house around the corner from us where the guy replaced his lawn with Astroturf. It looks awful.
Jeff, lawns take a lot of care. Diane mows the Front yard. We have a neighbor with a riding lawn mower who mows our Backyard. Diane waters the lawn weekly. We have Weed Man spray monthly. And, Diane’s landscaper and his crew show up to make everything look pretty.
We’re also big fans of greens (not only politically …) though our garden/lawn is a bit more wild, many bushess which we have to cut regularly eg.
And the local government of the town in Germany where we live made a rule that forbids paving over lawns.
Of course you can have a paved path to your house but most of the “lawn” must be green – this gets checked regularly by the city people and if you don’t follow it you pay …

Wolf, around here there are people who (often illegally) pave over their front lawns to give themselves parking spaces. It’s ugly and obnoxious.
Wolf, I’m against paving over lawns. But, it happens here. Like Jeff said, Astro Turf is the worst!
