“Honey, you lied when you said you loved me, and I had no cause to doubt you, but I’d rather go on hearing your lies than to go on living without you. Now the stage is bare and I’m standing there with emptiness all around. And if you won’t come back to me, then they can bring the curtain down.”

Are You Lonesome Tonight – I like to recite that part along with Elvis.

Little Sister, Viva Las Vegas, Can’t Help Falling in Love, Suspicious Minds. Can’t narrow it down further than that.

/On one of the first dates I went on with the man who would become my husband, we got where we were going but an Elvis song was on the radio. He waited for the song to end: “You can’t turn the car off when the King is singing,” quoth he. I guess I knew then he’d be the man for me!

Not an Elvis fan, never was, except maybe a song or two when I was in high school, even then he was way down the list. DFon’t listen now, usually change the channel, own no Elvis which is fine. There are those of us who are not fans. I feel the same way about M. Jackson

Rick, I was never a big fan either. His heyday (late 1950’s) was before my time. But there have always been a handful of his songs I’ve liked. When we went to see SMOKEY JOE’S CAFE, the musical featuring the music of Leiber & Stoller they made good use of several Elvis songs that the pair wrote, including “Don’t” and “Love Me” done as a duet/medley and “Jailhouse Rock.” “Hound Dog” was done in the original Big Mama Thornton version. The other Elvis song was “Loving You.”

Not really an Elvis fan, but I do admire a man who’ll sing a ditty about the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and almost make it work.

I love the early Elvis music, but I have a problem. His kid is a member of the Scientology Organized Crime Family so any money spent on his stuff goes to her and she spends it on the cult. I want to see the cult die and do what I can to discourage people from supporting cult members–to no avail, often. So, even if I want to buy this CD, I won’t.
