FISHER CHEF’S NATURAL RAW PEANUTS

As a diabetic, I’m always on the lookout for low carb food that tastes good. My latest discovery is Fisher Chef’s Natural Raw Peanuts. I found this tasty treat at Wal-Mart. Although this product is marketed as a baking item, it makes a fine snack, too. The raw peanuts aren’t salted or baked in oil. No empty calories or added fat. Fisher has a whole line of unprocessed nuts in the Chef’s line. If you want real flavor check these out. A quart cup of raw peanuts has 5 grams of carbohydrate (2 grams of fiber). That’s 160 calories. Here’s a healthy snack that will satisfy your need for something crunchy. I’ll be trying the other nuts in this product line soon.

I was about to make the comment that you could find more of Fisher’s items on the baking aisle, when I read that that’s exactly where you found them. As an avid cook and baker, I often use Fisher products for things like banana-nut bread and (my favorite) spicy-nutty slaw. I like the fact that nothing is salted or oiled, so you don’t have to compensate for that in recipes.

Glad you enjoy Fisher’s Chef’s Natural nuts as much as I do, Deb. I’ll have to go to the FOOD NETWORK web site and check out recipes for that spicy-nutty slaw. Sounds yummy!

Sorry, I’m a roasted, salted man. Since like you I have to watch such things, I just don’t allow myself to have them more than a couple of times a year. I’ve seen raw nuts at Trader Joe’s as well.

No on the slaw but that banana nut bread sounds good to me. We usually get roasted, unsalted nuts but raw is OK with me too.

I’m a banana nut bread fan, too, Jeff. I used to buy raw peanuts at our local health food store, but they were pricey. These Fisher Chef’s Naturals are way more affordable and taste just as good.

Did you hear about the peanut in Central Park? It was assaulted. I’m with Rick; I want my peanuts roasted and salted. Not that I eat them often.

I have made the peanut brittle recipe on the package several times. This is the best brittle recipe I have ever come across. I have request to make it constantly. Thanks for the great product and recipe.

3 years ago fisher stopped packaging raw peanuts. the recipe was always on the back of the bag of nuts. I couldn’t find any raw peanuts in any grocery stores in the Reno NV area.I called fisher to ask about why no nuts, and was told that they discontinued their raw peanuts. the lady that answered the phone told me that I find them at WINCO FOODS stores .She also faxed me the recipe that Fisher had on back of bag. WHEN DID FISHER START DOING RAW PEANUTS AGAIN. Found WINCO’S NUTS FRESHER & TASTERY
