  1. Jeff Meyerson

Nice. As you know we saw him recently opening for Santana at Jones Beach and he did a great job. I’ll have to look out for this.

This was his setlist that night:

    Dirty City
    Can´t Find My Way Home
The Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys
    Empty Pages
    Higher Love
    Dear Mr. Fantasy
    Gimme Some Lovin´

  2. Deb

I guess I’m so old, I’ll never think of Stevie Winwood’s music as being “forgotten”! Amazing to think how young he was when he first started with the Spencer Davis group–15? 16? As Eric Clapton put it, “A spotty-faced, white English teenager–with a voice like Ray Charles.”

I think I read that Steve Winwood joined the Spencer Davis group when he was 15, Deb. Then he was part of Blind Faith and Traffic. What a career! What great music! I hadn’t heard some of these songs in decades.

  3. Jeff Meyerson

I ordered it, George. Yeah, I think he was 15 when he joined Spencer Davis. He was only with Blind Faith for one album, but what a group!

  4. Richard Robinson

This does look really good! I liked a few of the Spencer Davis songs, but when Cream was created, I went nuts, bought every album as they came out, loved everything they did and now have the CDs. There are a few Cream favorites not here, (“I’m So Glad” is an example) but that makes sense since it’s a Winwood retrospective, not a Cream one. I have a couple of the Traffic albums too, and have always really loved “Can’t Find My Way Home”. I’ll be buying this one, Thanks, George!!

By the way, did you find it for some crazy low price somewhere?

    1. george Post author

I bought REVOLUTIONS at BEST BUY, Rick. They were charging $26.95 (list price $39.99) which is the same price AMAZON is charging.

  5. Richard Robinson

Well, upon even further looking the song on here, “Glad” isn’t the Cream one, it’s the Traffic / Winwood one. Regardless, this set is a winner.

Ah, Best Buy. Amazon beats that for me with no sales tax or shipping…

Many people have had Bad Experiences at BEST BUY, Rick. Steve Steinbock comes to mind. But they have always been good to me. I’m part of their REWARD ZONE membership so they provide me with coupons and discounts that sometimes beat AMAZON’s deals.

  6. Jeff Meyerson

I ordered it from amazon at George’s price.

JOHN BARLEYCORN MUST DIE got a lot of play from me when it first came out, Rick – on vinyl at that time, though I have the reissued CD now.

You have hours of great music to listen to when REVOLUTIONS arrives, Rick. Thanks to you and Jeff for stimulating the economy.

  7. Jeff Meyerson

George, we never had a problem with Best Buy either, though we didn’t buy any major appliances there.

I’ve bought printers and hard drives and plenty of other computer equipment from BEST BUY, Jeff. Never a problem. And, of course, I buy plenty of music CDs and Blu-ray DVDs there. BEST BUY has some excellent promotions.

  8. Randy Johnson

This one’s a definite for me as well. Like Richard, I go back with Winwood all the way to the Spencer Davis Group(comes from being an old geezer I guess(61).

You’ll have plenty of great listening ahead of you, Evan. And those Blind Faith and Spencer Davis Group cuts will sound superb!
