Frigidaire 35 Pint Dehumidifier with Wi-Fi (Energy Star) FHDD3534W1

Our 10 year old GE dehumidifier stopped working so we ordered a Frigidaire 35 Pint Dehumidifier with Wi-Fi (Energy Star) FHDD3534W1 from HOME DEPOT. A few days later, Diane received a text that said the dehumidifier arrived. We picked it up (38 pounds!) and brought it home.

I read the instructions, unpacked the unit, and plugged it in. A very quiet motor started and 24 hours later, I dumped 35 pints of water into my sump. Our large basement holds a lot of humidity so it takes two Frigidaire dehumidifiers to handle it. Last year we bought our first Frigidaire dehumidifier (you can read my review here) and it worked so well, we bought another one. Do you use a dehumidifier? Do you have a favorite? (GRADE: too soon to tell, but our other Frigidaire dehumidifier is a solid B+)

No. We use three humidifiers due to dryness in the winter, but have no need for a dehumidifier.

Another of the joys of home ownership.

Jeff, we woke up to a temperature of 79 degrees at 8:00 A.M. this morning. It’s hot, humid, and will get more windy this afternoon. Meanwhile, the humidity in our basement (where all the books reside) is under control with the two Frigidaire dehumidifiers. Both dehumidifiers are too far away from the sump for hoses so I have to manually dump out the water each day.

The kind of chore that flexes arms and stresses backs…after the French drains took care of the occasional basement flooding, we haven’t had Too much basement humidity (vs. the ground floor level. In Hawaii, avoiding humidity was a near impossibility beyond well-financed libraries and the like;; in Northern VA rather too true as well, but I believe the heating/AC had a built-in one. My family in the ’70s in CT (Hazardville, part of Enfield) had a dumping dehumidifier with a smaller tank capacity, so that young I might empty it a fair amount. Don’t remember needing one in New Hampshire nor Massachusetts.

Neighbors with deck pool conferring with guest after much splashing: “Are you OK?” Repeated several times…apparently yes.

Todd, with Western NY summers getting hotter and hotter, the humidity problem in my large basement demands TWO dehumidifiers. Years ago, only one was necessary…but those days are gone for good!

Best thing we ever did was install central air! Heat and cooling whenever it’s needed! Humidity is for suckers!!!

Bob, I’m an A/C enthusiast, too! On my trip to Europe, I suffered as I learned the Hard Way there’s little air conditioning there. Even though it was late May and early June, Europe was hot, hot, hot!

And this year it’s even hptter!
In our holiday home in Hungary near the Danube the climate is usually moderate but this year we already had more than 30 degrees (86 Fahrenheit).
        But we were lucly:
My partner’s older son gave us as a present and installed an A/C for the living rool and the bedroom – wonderful!
