GREEN BAY PACKERS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

Buffalo+Bills+v+Green+Bay+Packers+uS5pSqXKyvrl
The Green Bay Packers arrive in Buffalo atop the NFC North division with a 10-3 record. The Buffalo Bills only have a 4.5% chance of making the Playoffs with their 7-6 record. A loss to Aaron Rodgers will pretty much dash any post-season dreams some Bills fans still cling to. The Packers vs. Bills game was supposed to be the “National Game” for FOX, but when Cleveland announced they’d be starting Johnny Manziel against the Cincinnati Bengals, FOX revamped their plans. All of Texas and Ohio will be getting the Bengals vs. Browns game. What NFL games will you be watching today?

We have the Giants hosting Washington at 1, and then San Francisco at Seattle at 4:25. The Jets are in Jacksonville at 4 on CBS.

Hey, 1 4.5% chance is higher than the zero percent chance the Giants have!

I think a lot of pretenders will start to fall by the wayside after today’s games. It’s not looking good for the 49ers, and the Cowboys have a terrible tiebreaker record so could miss the playoffs completely, which would not upset me.

We get the San Francisco – Seattle game as the afternoon one, a rivalry game that can always be a toss up. I hope Manziel tanks, he’s such an arrogant jerk. The Broncos-Chargers game might be the most interesting of the day.

After last week’s debacle of a game against Carolina, the 5-8 Saints take on the equally hapless 5-8 Bears tomorrow night. Although in any other conference the Saints’ losing record would doom them, it’s still possible for them–if they win their remaining three games–to make the playoffs. I’m not holding my breath, but I’ll be watching tomorrow night’s game–if only to see the Bears’ Matt Forte, who graduated from the same high school as my kids.

Deb, your husband was right about Atlanta losing at Green Bay. Atlanta faces another tough game today with the Steelers. The Saints still have a shot of making the Playoffs! The Bears seem to have given up.

Ray, CBS cut a deal with FOX in order to broadcast those stinky Thursday night games which included some NFC teams. In return, FOX got the right to broadcast some AFC games like today’s Green Bay vs. Buffalo game.

We don’t even get the Thursday night games here. Pfui! I hope I don’t jinx the Seahawks by saying they should win handily over SF, but I like their chances. I’m also pulling for the Chargers over the hated Broncos, the Eagles over the hated Cowboys, and Atlanta over the much hated Stealers.

Well, the Bills are even at the half but the second half has been their bete noire. The Steelers are beating the Falcons. And Johnny Football is performing as well as one could hope, Cincinnati 20, Cleveland 0.

We don’t get the Thursday night games either.

But I don’t have the NFL Channel.

Great finish! Congratulations, George. When the Giants game ended they switched to Buffalo just in time to see Andre Williams strip Aaron Rodgers of the ball for the final safety. I meant to mention one statistic the NY Times mentioned today that proved prophetic: lifetime the Packers were 0-5 in Buffalo. Make it 0-6 now.

OK, I do have the NFL Channel. I was thinking something else. Never mind.

So much for the Packers getting the #1 overall seed. Detroit could even win the division.

That was a questionable roughing the passer penalty against the 49ers, though I’m betting Rick & Cap’n Bob don’t think so.

Depends if you think he led with the crown of his helmet… I couldn’t really tell. If Seattle can beat Arizona at AZ next week, they will both have 11 win records. Could the Seahawks possibly pull off a home field in the playoffs? Woo-hoo!

I don’t get the NFL channel. It looked to me, and the official, that Wilson was speared by the defender’s helmet. I’ll take it. The non-call of pass interference earlier balances things out if it was a bad call.
