Same to you, George, and to all your readers! Seems few people get today off. I know my employer (before I retired, that is) traded Columbus Day for the day after Thanksgiving on our holiday schedule. I always felt that was a pretty good trade off.
The College used to give the students and faculty off on Columbus Day and the next day, Rick. They called it “Fall Break.” But now we only get Columbus Day off. Next month, we get Election Day off as a compensation.
Columbus Day is Thanksgiving in Canada, Jeff. And Canada closes most of its stores for major holidays (and Sundays) so the International Bridges are busy with Canadians driving here to shop.

Funny, she doesn’t look Italian.
Most everything (including schools) is closed in New York, Rick, but when you’re retired every day is a day off, right?

True. Everybody knows what Columbus Day really stands for: mattress sales. That is, if you didn’t buy one on President’s Day.
😉
Happy Columbus Day, George!
The same to you, Beth! We have unusual weather for Columbus Day this year: sunny with temps near 80! Go Brewers!
It was 84 here yesterday and 81 today. Should be back to a more normal 66 by the weekend.
The Bills will be playing the Giants this Sunday, Jeff. The Giants are 3 and a half point favorites.
Get that woman some peanuts, stat (along with whatever else she wants, of course).
Yes, Dr. Todd, raw peanuts STAT!
