Happy Father’s Day to all you Dads out there! I thought I’d give a shout-out to Art Garfunkel and his son’s album, Father and Son. Take a listen to Art Garfunkel and son singing “Time After Time.” Sounds good but Art Garfunkel has not aged well…

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers (and fathers-in-law and step-fathers) out there. We began our day with the electricity going out in the neighborhood…if we get power back at some point today, we plan to have Waygu beef steaks, Caprese salad, and homemade chocolate gelato for our celebration dinner. But right now some much depends on CLECO, sigh.
Deb, Happy Father’s Day to your husband! Diane is a big gelato fan. But we’re looking at a quiet day of getting caught up on some TV programs we have on our DVR. Dinner looks like a Caprese salad, pasta and sauce, and desserts of chocolate cream pie and carrot cake. Hope your power comes back soon!
May I humbly suggest that Patrick and Katie won the lottery? Enjoy your day, George.
Jerry, Patrick is in Wisconsin attending an Artificial Intelligence conference. Katie’s in Boston driving around with her Altima’s air conditioning fixed. It pooped out last week and she had to wait for parts to arrive. Diane and I plan to chill out today. Happy Father’s Day to you!
Artie doesn’t look too bad for 83; can’t judge whether his voice has held up since I haven’t heard the album. Happy Father’s Day to all. I have a loving wife, two beautiful, accomplished daughters, and three precious grandchildren. Life doesn’t get much better than that.
Fred, you’re right: Life doesn’t get much better than that! Happy Father’s Day! I always associated Art Garfunkel with looking like an elf.
Happy Father’s Day, George. I’m quite certain you’re a fine one in an era when younger fathers seem more interested in being playmates and best buddies to their kids then thoughtful, caring role models. Relax and enjoy your day.
Byron, that’s for the kind Father’s Day wishes! Parenting is an art form that varies with each situation. Diane and I won the Lottery with Patrick and Katie: two kind, wonderful kids. We have friends who are dealing with children on drugs or with mental problems. What a struggle!
God, he looks old. The song is OK but I wouldn’t buy it.
Happy Father’s Day to George and all the other fathers out there, Jerry and Fred and John included.
No celebration here, obviously, other than my daily celebration of being here. Your dinners sound yummy. We’re getting Chinese takeout – avoid restaurants on these holiday Sundays – after Jackie gets her hair done.
That picture of Garfunkel should be juxtaposed with him and Paul Simon singing “Old Friends” in 1968.
Jeff, great idea! I’ll post that photo right now!
Happy Day After!
