George, today is also National Buy a Book Day. To celebrate, I’m heading off to my local non-profit neighborhood used book store which is having its annual Labor Day weekend sale, $2 a book!
Jerry, once again I’m green with envy. I’m sure you’ll be listing your latest haul of books on your blog. I can’t wait to see what treasures you found!
Deb
Happy Labor Day to all. From the time we started open registration at school (late July) until about now, things are nonstop crazy, to the point that I always tell John, “Look for me around Labor Day.” I’m happy to report I brought no work home this weekend and spent yesterday floating in the Cruz’s pool (Julia’s boyfriend’s parents) and eating ribs & fixings.
Henceforth to be known as President Donald J Trump Day by executive order. That’s okay with the millions who have never heard of Haymarket, Ludlow, Paint Creek, or Butte.
Fred, you’re right. Most people have no clue what Labor Day is all about. The College I taught at for almost 40 years didn’t have any History courses!

I’m going to the little league field where Larry hits balls and Blondie who has retired from retrieving them runs around chasing but not catching birds. I set the balls up on the tee. Larry’s an umpire and gets access for this. Last year I cleared away dandelions and see few this year.
And to you and yours, George.
It is also National Salami day but you knew that, I’m sure.
Jerry, Labor Day is also Get Some Reading Done Day, too!

Jerry, I wish I could go with you! $2 a book is irresistible!!!
George, I greatly restrained myself and only bought 25 books today, which does not include the 14 I bought on Saturday at the book sale.

Deb, sounds good! Much better than Diane’s plans to wash the outside windows today. She thinks Labor Day means…to labor!
Nice picture of you at the pool.
Jeff, the only thing missing here is the pool…and a book! Diane wants to wash the outside windows so there goes my Reading Time…

Maggie, sounds like a perfect Labor Day! Have fun!
I haven’t labored in years, so the day means little to me!
Bob, I know you work hard…at the casino!!!
I popped in yesterday and made $68 in about half an hour! It takes the edge off my last two losses!
Bob, at the casino you win some…and you lose some.
