    Happy New Year!
Seems you are a leader in social distancing – here in Europe meeting family without masks is ok.
In Gemany selling of fireworks was forbidden but here in Hungary it was allowed so several people in our street showed off their money …
One of those so called “batteries” where several colourful rockets start automatically one after the other costs almost 100$ – and we saw families starting several of them.
Compare this to the minimum pension of around 300 $/month …

Wolf, Trump and the Republicans have cut huge holes in the social “safety-net” that used to protect Americans from falling into poverty. The food lines here are miles long!

A very happy New Year to the Kelleys! I am a little upset since someone pointed out to me that 2021 is pronounced “2020 won.”

Jerry, Happy New Year to all the Houses, too! Actually, 2020 did win because of the abysmal effort to control the coronavirus pandemic. If we don’t learn from this, the next outbreak will be even worse. But, on a happier note, I think we might be mask-free in six or seven months if the Biden roll-out of the vaccines works.

Patti, we can’t wait to go mask-less again. Katie is getting the vaccine next week. My brother got it last week. Hopefully, 70% of us will have been vaccinated by Summer.

Nice masks! Happy New Year. We had a little noise here last night, but as I was asleep by 11:30, I missed most of it.

Jeff, Happy New Year! Cuomo is going to allow 6,700 fans into Bills Stadium to watch the first home Playoff Game in 26 years. I’ll be home watching it on our SONY.

Happy New Year! Lots of fireworks here…but I was in bed by 12:15 AM. I suspect the first couple of months of 2021 are going to be holdovers from 2020–lots more covid cases resulting from all that Christmas travel, etc. I pray we all stay healthy until the covid vaccine works its way around to each of us.

Deb, Happy New Year to you and your family! Yes, the next two months will be dicey as the race between the Super Spreader Coronavirus variant and the vaccines crosses the nation.

Dan, you are too kind! I don’t know how all those Bad Guys in Westerns put up with those masks. The skin on my nose gets irritated if I wear a mask too long.

Best wishes to all for the new year, but I’m not optimistic. Trump may be going away, but we already have a new Chief Fascist in Josh Hawley to replace him. My goals for the new year are to survive and eat in a real restaurant again.

Michael, Happy New Year! Josh Hawley is just the tip of the political iceberg. Dozens of mini-Trumps will be following his Playbook in the years ahead spending lies, disinformation, and division. Like you, Diane and I are eager for our community to reach the point where it’s safe to eat inside a restaurant again.

    happy new year

fireworks started in my neighborhood a little after 6pm they continued into the night, I go to bed early to go on an early walk, and was in bed at 930 heard fireworks until I fell asleep

the vaccine can’t come quick enough. SD had a record covid hospitalization of 62 in a day yesterday. I see more people wearing masks on my walk, but see fewer people out there

Maggie, Happy New Year! New York State has an aggressive vaccination program. Right now, it’s ICU staff, doctors and nurses, emergency responders, and residents of nursing homes. The next wave will be people 75 and older, police and fire fighters. Next comes people 65 and older, “essential” workers, and teachers. I’m hoping for a shot by late February or early March.
