Yes, it’s Washington’s Birthday. Lincoln’s Birthday was last week. I got both holidays off. We set a new all time high yesterday for that date, and may do so again today. Barbara’s going to the dentist, I’m going for a walk by the river. Your model here doesn’t look like she’s dressed to cross the Potomac, or Delaware, or whatever.
Rick, we set a new record, too. Our new record low for February 16 is -12 degrees. The wind chill is -28 degrees. Needless to say, I won’t be leaving my house today.
Right now in Louisiana, Presidents Day isn’t even on the radar. Today is Lundi Gras and tomorrow is Mardi Gras. A lot of businesses (including local banks) have elected to stay open today and be closed tomorrow. School is closed all week, so I’ve started some early spring cleaning, later I’m doing my taxes. My husband and the twins have gone to New Orleans to watch the parades, but my older daughter and I feel we’ve caught our share of beads and “throws”.

Bob, a new phenomenon called “Presidents’ Week” has emerged here in the Northeast. Almost all the public schools are closed this week.
