Bob, Diane and I love Thanksgiving…especially if the kids can come home to join us. This year, Patrick’s home but Katie has to work tomorrow. But she’ll be home for Christmas!

Dan, for the first time in many years, Diane is NOT hosting Thanksgiving. We’re going to have Thanksgiving dinner with some friends in Lockport this year. Diane is bringing the Jello Salad and Patrick is bringing a fruit dessert. I’m bringing the wine.

Jerry, the same to you and your family! Having Patrick home makes the day special! We’ll Portal with Katie this afternoon before we travel to Lockport for the Thanksgiving feast!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. So thankful to all my family and friends (online and irl)—more so than ever in these tumultuous times.

Our meal today: smoked turkey and ham (John’s been up since 1:00 AM getting things going on the big green egg), creamed spinach, green bean casserole, roasted veggies (what we don’t eat will be blended with broth for soup next week), mashed potatoes & gravy, corn casserole, Mac & cheese, dressing, and pumpkin & pecan pies. Obviously, a very low-carb meal 😂. Julia also made some sesame-scallion bread (a staple of Islamic-Chinese cuisine): totally not part of a regular Thanksgiving table, but I was talking not long ago about how much I used to love that bread when we’d go to the Islamic-Chinese restaurants in Los Angeles), and she called last night and said she was making some to bring today. Can’t wait!

Same to you and the gang, George, as well as Jerry and Deb and everyone here.

No danger of eating too much turkey – for one thing, no turkey today! We replaced it with a huge Costco chicken. But the real danger of overeating for me is the sides, particularly the stuffing, plus roasted potatoes, corn, cranberry jello mold.

May your feast be jolly and bountiful! We’re gathering with the kids and grandkids. We too are the wine porters. Nice, cool fall weather in Austin today.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!
This is my favorite holiday – no gifts to worry about, people I love to eat with, and plenty of good food to eat.
    I am truly blessed.

Happy thanksgiving. Larry made a small turkey as there’s only 4 . Blondie the shoenapper thinks she should be #5, but that’s not happening. She will get skins & lots of hugs and pats. We made excellent mashed sweet potatoes, regular mashed potatoes and gravy with mixed veggies. Ee bought a cherry pie and a friend brought a big pumpkin pie and chestnuts. Not knowing how to roast them, we heated them in the microwave. Not a success.

Maggie, I use our microwave for popcorn mostly. Check your mailbox in a couple of weeks. I’m sending you a box of audiobooks for Christmas!

Thanks. We used ola couple of the last batch driving to Reno for a funeral. We’re going to spring training early March in Phoenix so that’ll work great. I used Marriott points for 2 free nights very near the Padres field. The 2 previous times we were much further away. Good news is there’s a Culver’s very near the field.

Maggie, Awesome Patrick has a zillion Marriott points! As long as GOOGLE keeps Patrick on the road, he’ll never have to pay for a hotel room for decades!
