Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, tells how he gained his lofty position and what he did when he got there. I’m always fascinated by leaders who have to change the corporate culture. When Satya Nadella took over the top spot at Microsoft, the organization was facing several problems. Innovation had slowed down. Market share was shrinking. Corporate focus was lacking. Satya Nadella shows how he managed to get key groups within and without of Microsoft to buy into his vision of where the organization needed to go. Today, Microsoft is heavily invested in cloud computing and Artificial Intelligence. Interest in Quantum computing is also growing. It’s not easy to change corporate culture or change organizational strategy. But, Satya Nadella seems to have done it and Hit Refresh shows how he did it. Impressive! Are you a fan of Microsoft? Satya Nadella? Real name, David Smith.
Yes, I’m generally a fan of Microsoft, at least of Bill Gates.
We’re getting ready to hit the road in a couple of hours.
Jeff, have a safe trip! It’s frigid here! We woke up to 13 degrees and it’s not going to get much warmer. The roads are icy and treacherous!
Drive Safely!! BTW, I picked up a hanging stylus for you guys yesterday.
Maggie, that figures.
Thanks. So far it is sunny, if cold. I guess we’ll see how it goes tomorrow.
Jeff, download the free WEATHER CHANNEL app. It will tell you everything you would ever want to know about the weather. THE WEATHER CHANNEL is Diane’s favorite channel!
I saw him on I think the daily show. He was entertaining
Maggie, Satya Nadella comes off as a very smart guy in HIT REFRESH. I might have to buy some MICROSOFT stock!
Book sounds boring. Have a SAFE trip, Jeff. It’s a two day drive, yes? Of course you’re already on your way by the time I put this comment up…
We take 3+ days, Rick. We’re not in a hurry. We’re hoping that by tomorrow night the bad stuff south of us will be cleared, at least from I-95.
I need to read more books like this. PRAIRIE FIRE about Laura Ingalls Wilder is terrific. The books made it seem easier than it was.
Patti, I have a copy of PRAIRE FIRE but I haven’t found the time to read it. I just picked up four more books from the Library and AMAZON just delivered two more books! So many books, so little time!
YAWN! Does he explain why his damn Windows programs always lock up?
Bob, Microsoft is working on that.
