By the time you read this I should be on my way home from REHAB. It’s been over two weeks since my knee surgery. I’m walking with a cane. My pain has lessened. Flexibility increases daily. I’m feeling great! My next milestones are to set up Physical Therapy sessions for the next few weeks. I also have an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon next Wednesday. I’m sure he’ll be pleased with my progress. Thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes! Your good vibes helped to make my recovery successful.
You must look quite dapper with the cane!
I asked for the cane with the sword hidden in it, Bill. But they were all out.
That’s good to hear, George. The sooner you heal, the faster you’ll be able to scoot around that cave!
There are 14 steps down to my personal Bat Cave, Jerry. I’ll wait a few days before I attempt that.
I expect you to be crime-fighting in Gotham City very soon!
The early reviews of the new Batman movie sound promising, Deb. One thing I always loved about the Batman comics and the Batman TV show from the Sixties was the Bat Cave.
Good news, George. A speedy recovery indeed.
I’m making good progress, Patti. I still lack strength in my right leg. That’s what Physical Therapy will be working on over the next couple of months.
George, if you’re using a cane, you must also wear a top hat. You’ll be the talk of the cave. And congratulations on your progress.
I’ll have to check to see if I have a top hat around here, Drongo. Recovery from major surgery depends on a positive attitude. I want to get better so I’m willing to do the work to make it happen.
What Drongo said.
Glad you’re home at last back among the Real Kelley Collection and near the pizza joints of your choice.
You can bet that pizza will be on my menu for the next few days, Jeff. REHAB was a pizza-free zone.
Great news!
Thanks, James! There’s a price to be paid when you choose to have major surgery and I’ll be paying it for the rest of the summer. But REHAB put me on the right road to recovery.
Good news. I know how those rehabs can go. Been there a few times myself after various surgeries. Always glad to get home.
I would have stayed a few more days in REHAB if they’d let me, Randy. But my health insurance only covered 12 days of REHAB so that’s what I got. I’ll miss the daily physical therapy sessions.
Congratulations, George! Glad to hear things went so well.
I couldn’t ask for a better result, Beth. There’s still plenty of work to get my new knee to do everything that I want it to do. But the pain is lessening and my strength is building. Thanks for all your good cheer!
As the song says, there’s no p[lace like home. Barbara loves to travel, I love my nest. Glad things are progressing so well!
I love home, too, Richard. But I made the most of REHAB. The daily PT helped my new knee and the downtime allowed me to listen to a stack of audiobooks.
12 days, eh. My three stints were two months, a month, and a month, plus a week in one hospital. There really is no place like home.
I’m sure there’s a chart somewhere of what my insurance will cover, Randy. In the case of post-op knee surgery, my insurance would only cover 12 days. I’m happy to have rehabbed that length of time. Many other patients with new knees were sent home after just a few days.
