IS EVERYONE HANGING OUT WITHOUT ME? (AND OTHER CONCERNS) By Mindy Kaling

Mindy Kaling is a screen-writer and producer of NBC’s comedy, The Office. She’s cute and perky and her writing reflects that. Mindy Kaling tells how she went from a chubby (her word) teenager to a successful Hollywood writer. Along the way, Mindy shares her fashion tips, writing routine, and some personal history. If you’re a fan of The Office you’ll appreciate the inside story of Mindy’s interactions with the stars and staff. Think of Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? as Bossypants-lite. GRADE: B

I DO like The Office so I’m interested. I took a look at this at the bookstore. I think it’s a one-night read. I’ve spent more time watching reruns of The Office.

Everybody loves MIndy as Kelly, Bob. Mindy says she’s so busy writing scripts and producing THE OFFICE, she doesn’t have time to be Kelly very often.

I’ve never watched The Office but am aware of it and might find this interesting. I’m sure the library has it. I wonder why Cap’n Bob can’t find the time to read when he’s retired now. Hmm… must spend all his time baby sitting.

Never watched The Office either – only the British original with Ricky Gervais.

    I did like Bossypants, however.

I liked BOSSYPANTS, too, Jeff. Diane bought the audiobook and we listened to it. Tina Fey narrates so it was fun to hear her chat about her work and life.

Read this a few weeks ago. Not the knee-slapper that I’d hoped for, but Kaling is witty and interesting. I bet she’d be a memorable date.

I totally agree with you, Drongo. On another topic, ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd today said that the best pick of the weekend’s playoff games is Tim Tebow and the Broncos plus those 9 points over Pittsburgh.

I am not at all optimistic about Sunday’s game. There’s even a persistent rumor that Brady Quinn is going to start at QB.

On a related subject, did you watch the WVU/Clemson game last night? Must have been a quiet plane ride back to South Carolina for the Tigers.

The Denver/Pittsburgh game is like watching a fight between a top-40 radio dj and a used car salesman–I don’t know who to root for. I guess Denver, only because I hate them a little less than the Stealers.

I stopped going to the casino on Dec 5. The bloom was off the rose by then. I spend way too much time on the computer and only read when I go to bed at night. Too many books, not enough time.

I’m hoping today’s games offer a bit more suspense than yesterday’s games, Bob. I’m sure Bill Crider is happy that the Texans won their first playoff game. My niece was in the Superdome as New Orleans scored all those points.
