Up to a couple of weeks ago, the Buffalo Bills were favored in this game by 1 1/2 points. Then, Vegas changed the point spread to the Chiefs being favored by 1 1/2 points. This week, Vegas changed the spread again: the Chiefs are now favored by 2 1/2 points.
Why is Vegas changing the point spread? Clearly, all those folks on Fanduel, Draftkings, Caesars Sportsbook, and BetMGM shifted the line from the Bills to the Chiefs. What do they know that we don’t know?

I don’t know! I’m rooting for the Seahawks to trounce the Redskins but I haven’t the confidence to predict anything! When it came down to the wire, I realized I didn’t want the Blue Jays to lose to the hated Dodgers, even though I wasn’t a fan of either team! Naturally, the Dodgers won!
I like the Bills, but I’m pulling for the Chiefs!
Bob, when the Blue Jays lost their lead late in Game 7, I knew the Dodgers would win.
They don’t “know” anything, but—as in horse racing—the amount of bets in one direction or another changes the odds. Sports betting on a massive scale has corrupted modern sports, and these scandals that are popping up here and there are just the tip of the iceberg. /Dismounting soapbox now.
As for the football team here in the Big Easy: the 1-7 Saints journey to Los Angeles to take on the 5-2 Rams. I expect the Rams to make quick work of the Boys in Black & Gold whose sheer incompetence has people harkening back to the good old days of “the Ain’ts”. However, nothing can dim my joy today—the Dodgers won the World Series last night and we are hosting a dinner at our house later today with Jeff & Jackie Meyerson as the guests of honor! Good times.
