LONDON CALLING: LIVE IN HYDE PARK [Blu-ray] By Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band

This concert was filmed in June, 2009 in High-Definition. The sound is sharp and clean, unlike some concert DVDs I’ve heard (U2 comes to mind). I didn’t notice any low points in this 3-hour concert. It’s all good. GRADE: A

I love how Bruce incorporates the work of others into his sets–I bet he just tears up “Good Lovin’.” I saw him a number of years ago and one of the show-stoppers was CCR’s “Traveling Band.” This has to go to the top of the must-have list–perhaps as a birthday gift for hubby who is approaching the big five-oh in a few weeks.

LONDON CALLING: LIVE IN HYDE PARK would make a great birthday gift, Deb! Springsteen’s shirt is drenched with sweat as The Boss works the crowd into frenzy. And, surprisingly, he gets stronger as the performance goes on! An impressive performance.

Enjoyed your editorial, George. I think teachers have been bemoaning their students forever but it sure seems like they have grown worse in the last ten years.

Thanks for the kind words, Patti. As I pointed out in that editorial, my students are not unintelligent, they’re just uneducated. Their K-12 education failed them.
