What a wonderful family! Really good that you can enjoy the holidays together!
We’re on our own today – preparing for the next dayx when my partner’s family will visit us – they all are waiting forr the lovely stuff that she’s been baking and cooking.
Neeru, we don’t get to see Patrick and Katie much any more. So Christmas is a Special Occasion where we can enjoy their company before they fly back to Brooklyn and Boston.
Merry Christmas to all! We’re doing things a little differently today than in prior years: rather than have a mad rush to open all the gifts before we have to disappear into the kitchen (or for John, the back patio) to start cooking, we’re just going to open our stockings this morning—and then tear into the big packages after dinner. We’re having our traditional lamb, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy. For dessert, a Chantilly cake (or, as they call it down here, a Gentilly cake)—purchased from a bakery because the girls weren’t able to get home until yesterday so no time to bake. I’m anticipating a busy & fun-filled day!
Jeff, we were calculating the Christmas dinner on seven guests. But our former neighbor and her daughter–who used to babysit Patrick and Katie–had no where to go for Christmas so Diane invited them, too.
Deb, Merry Christmas to you and your family! We’re having a turkey and gravy for our family and guests. Mac & Cheese, rolls, Jello salad, Sweet Potato and Apple Casserole, White Potatoes, and green beans. Desserts: banana cream pie, strawberry rhubarb pie, apple pie, seven types of cookies–gingerbread chai, cosmic brownie cookie, strawberry melt-aways, sugar cookies, passionfruit thumbprint, chocolate Polish cookies, stacked waffle cookie–and a chocolate peanut butter cake. Should be a grand time!
Jerry, after the Christmas blizzards of the past few years, waking up to green grass and no icy streets or sidewalks is a pleasant change! Hope you and your family enjoy this Special Day!
Merry Christmas. We’re going to a friend’s open house soon and for dinner with a high school friends house. We go to most holidays there. They have 3 refrigerators. 2 freezers & a wine refrigerator!!!! We also do Valentine’s Day with them, and most other holidays.
There’s a white elephant gift exchange and I’ve been going through excess “stuff” and did a gift bag with a toothbrush I never used with sparkles in a liquid in the handle and written on it was ” youthless and toothless, along with a travel toothbrush with a Frida Khalo picture on the cover and a tongue scraper with a few other things. Larry’s got a ditty bag from the LA Coroners office with a body outlined on it and something inside that I forget.
We also try to go to spring training in Phoenix area when they do. This year we’ve got 2 free nights at the Marriott near the complex. Thanks to Jackie Myersons example I now have a Marriott credit card!!
It’s been way too long. So glad to hear you are enjoying life. Since the pandemic, Jeff really hates flying so it’s winter in Florida, a week in New England with cousins and the very occasional flight to New Orleans. Just went for our 55th anniversary and we’re treated to a Greek feast at Deb’s.
Marriott is still my friend as we are Lifetime Titanium.
Byron, hope you feel better soon! Western NY is also dealing with high rates of flu and Covid-19. The unnaturally warm weather might have something to do with this…
I hope Santa fulfills all of your wishes!
Bob, all I want for Christmas is Love and Affection.
Lovely family. A very Merry Christmas to all.

Wolf, we lucked out with weather this year. It’s in the high 30s with not a speck of snow to be seen. Tomorrow…and ice storm!!!

Yum. You can’t go wrong with lamb and Yorkshire pudding. Enjoy!
We’re copying A Christmas Story with the traditional New York Jewish Christmas meal of Chinese food. I’ll sing “Deck the halls with boughs of horry.”
Jeff, sounds like fun!
Are you having the whole crew there, Deb?
Jeff, we were calculating the Christmas dinner on seven guests. But our former neighbor and her daughter–who used to babysit Patrick and Katie–had no where to go for Christmas so Diane invited them, too.

Sounds like a real feast. Nice of Diane to invite them.
Jeff, each year for Christmas Diane takes in “strays”–friends who live alone or don’t have any family in the area. Diane has a heart of gold!
And Merry Christmas to the Kelley family.
Jeff, it’s great to have Katie and Patrick home for the Holidays!
Great picture of you and the merry band of Santa’s helpers! Enjoy the day, stay warm and well-fed!

Merry Christmas to you and your family, George! That’s a lovely photo, and I’m very glad you could all be together this year.
BV, Merry Christmas to you, too! Having the kids home for Christmas is the best present!

Maggie, Merry Christmas and thanks for the e-card! Jackie Meyerson knows her way around Marriotts near and far!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Jackie & Jeff
J. I remember being impressed when you were permanent platinum!!!
Jeff and Jackie, Patrick is high up on the Marriott food chain, but I’m not sure he’s Lifetime Titanium!
Merry Christmas to you and your family, George. Christmas is on hold here until I get over this wicked stomach flu. Enjoy the time with your kids.
