MINIONS

Minions+Film
Minions, those yellow caplets who wear goggles and speak in gibberish, get their own movie after playing backup in Despicable Me 1 & 2. There’s a lot of silliness in this movie (as you might expect). A large chunk of the movie is set in the 1960s so there’s plenty of Golden Oldie music in the background (just check out the soundtrack below). Some critics didn’t like Sandra Bullock as Scarlett Overkill (a Super-Villainess) but I thought she was okay. If you’re looking for a funny animated feature film on a hot Summer day, I’d recommend Minions. B+

The soundtrack looks impressive, all those 60s bands “I grew up with” (of course I already was a student then …):
Doors, Hendrix, Donovan, Spencer Davis, …
    A bit OT:
The movie will surely make its way onto Hungarian tv too – it’s funny that all Hollywood productions are translated into Hungarian. Even or should I say especially the crappy ones like those Asylum films which are usually ripoffs of blockbusters!

Wolf, JURASSIC WORLD is still dominating the movie theaters here. But INSIDE OUT is doing well, too. And many more big Summer Movies are still ahead. I’m looking forward to ANT MAN.

I probably won’t see it, even on video, but who knows? As for the music, funny, I don’t remember Smashing Pumpkins in the 1960s.. I suppose “Mello Yellow” was inevitable.

Still pass, even if some of the music appeals to me. The idea of listening to gibberish has no appeal, and I dislike modern animation.
