MINNESOTA VIKINGS VS. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (FOX 1:00 P.M) and SEATTLE SEAHAWKS VS. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (NBC 4:30 P.M.)

The Buffalo Bills lost to the Houston Texans 22-19 on an OT field goal. I’m bummed, but now I can’t wait until next year!

The Saints are favored by 8 points over the Vikings. The Vikings have been an up-and-down team all season. I think they’ll be down today. An easy win for the Saints!

The Seahawks are favored by 1 1/2 points in this game at Philly. The Eagles are by far the weakest team in the Playoffs. They are riddled with injuries. I think the Seahawks will put this game away early and move on in the Playoffs. And Russell Wilson has NEVER lost in Philadelphia! Who do you think will win today?

After the two games yesterday, I’m hesitant to say that I think both the Saints and Seahawks will emerge victorious Because both of the teams I thought would win yesterday lost. The Saints need to stampede down the field and not let up for the entire game (the defense occasionally fails to show up for a quarter—usually the third or fourth). I think Seattle will win…but the Eagles have somehow made it to the playoffs and that might give them some extra scrappiness.

Deb, the Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans game was the Tale of Two Halves. The Bills took the lead and built a 16-0 score by Half-time. But then the wheels came off and the Texans scored 19 unanswered points. Major momentum shift! The young Bills will learn from this experience and I hope they’re back in the Playoffs next year! As for today’s games, I feel confident the Saints and the Seahawks will be moving up to the next Playoff Round.

I was bummed – though not as much as you were – by the Bills blowing a 16-0 lead. Houston stupidly gave them a chance to come back and tie it by going for it on fourth down rather than punting when the Bills were out of time outs, but alas. Not to be.

Ih well, at least the Patriots lost. It was sweet seeing Belichick’s own “run down the clock” tactics used against him.

Today, no question – Saints big at home. Also the Seahawks in Philly.

I was thinking about it. In the first round, the 3/6 game is the only one that determines things. If the 3 team (New England, New Orleans) wins, they play the next week at #2. If they lose to #6, the latter plays at #1. The 4/5 game winner plays at whichever team is left. So Tennessee plays in Baltimore and Houston in Kansas City.

Jeff, usually those teams that get the Bye–like KC and the Ravens–win convincingly. I’m looking forward to next weekend’s games!

Yeah—I noticed that when they were showing the “possible match-ups for next week’s games” during yesterday’s games: everything depends on the outcome of the 3/6 game.

Am sick and in bed, so not watching football. Barbara watch the Seahawks game and keep me updated if I’m not sleeping or something. I’m afraid Philly will rise up and win like Houston did.

Well, I said the Saints defense often fails to show up, but today it appears to be the offense that decided to take the day off. Jeez!

Looks like the winning touchdown should have been an offensive pass interference call against Minnesota, but it should never have come to that.

As for Seattle, too bad Wilson didn’t hand it to Lynch and they would have won that second Super Bowl.
