MY LIFE IS MURDER (PBS)

Lucy Lawless (aka, Xena: Warrior Princess) plays a former detective, now a Private Investigator, Alexa Crowe. She assists DI Kieran Hussey (Season 1) and Detective Harry Henare (Season 2—) in solving a variety of complex homicides with the help of tech-savvy assistant Madison, convicted felon brother Will, and café owner and friend Reuben Wulf.

My Life Is Murder is an Australian–New Zealand murder mystery crime comedy-drama television series. The ten part series premiered inJuly 2019. In the United States, the series began streaming on Acorn TV in August 2019. Now PBS is running the series. I caught it by accident the other day and I just wanted to give you a heads up.

My Life Is Murder would qualify as “Summer viewing” since so many of the series we watch won’t return until the Fall. My Life Is Murder is nothing special, but I’m a Lucy Lawless fan so I’ll watch anything with her in it. GRADE: B

Saw it some years back, somewhere, possibly on the now-vanished Link TV. Hey, anything which isn’t yet another slaughter in Midsomer is a welcome change of pace.

MIDSOMER the series feels as if has decimated, quite literally, Midsomer the town by now. Still a better series to watch, than, say, THREE’S COMPANY, but still….

Todd, I watched twenty seasons of MIDSOMER and found myself extremely disappointed with the rare episode thad did not have the
        THREE REQUIRED murders.

I agree on Lawless, the main reason (along with the scenery) to watch it. I dislike the assistant, Madison, more as it goes along, however, and we quit watching after a couple of series.

The one that is closest to Midsomer, but with a sense of humor, is The Brokenwood Mysteries, also set in New Zealand.

Jeff, I hope our PBS station picks up THE BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES, too. MY LIFE IS MURDER just popped up on our local PBS station without any fanfare.

Todd, I think you’re right. A lot of “marginal” series suddenly showed up on PBS in the last couple of weeks.

Maggie, there is very little “must see” on TV right now. Many of my friends are glued to the World Cup matches! Not me…

Xena was fine if you like people in the Hyborean Age speaking Valley Girl! I don’t! It sounds to me like this show has too many niches it’s trying to fill at once!
