Narek Hakhnazaryan, the brilliant cellist, was born in 1988. Can you remember what you were doing in 1988? That makes Hakhnazaryan 24 years old. He may be young in years, but he plays with passion and talent. Noreen Cassidy-Polera accompanied Hakhnazaryan on a new Steinway with panache. The Ramsi Tick Concert Series audience gave Hakhnazaryan and Cassidy-Polera several standing ovations (I was one of them). If this duo shows up in your town, they’re well worth hearing.

I was taking little Patrick and Katie to work with me back in 1988, Jeff. We had a world-class Child Care Center at my College back then. So I’d visit Patrick and Katie between classes and occasionally have lunch with them and the other little kids. It seems like yesterday…

Yep, bought a house in 1988. Was busy putting in curtains, getting some new furniture, building shelves, unpacking books. Heck, just about the same routine as in late 2010 when we moved here.

    This looks good, love cello.

Narek Hakhnazaryan doesn’t have a CD out yet, Rick, but you can bet that I’ll buy it when it is available. Last week Yo-Yo Ma wasn’t able to perform in Chicago and Nakhnazaryan filled in for him. Excellent reviews of that performance!
