NCAA MEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 2017

March Madness ends tonight. I’ll be rooting for Gonzaga to beat North Carolina. North Carolina is a 2-point favorite, but expect a close game. North Carolina has won the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship five times: 1957 (undefeated), 1982, 1993, 2005, 2009. Who will you be rooting for?

I’m with you–Gonzaga for the win. I would have liked Mississippi State to have won the Women’s Championship yesterday–they were a true Cinderella story.

Deb, I was rooting for Mississippi Sate to win the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. But their Big Win of U-Conn obviously drained them.

I find that to be the case so often. Teams overcome seemingly impossible odds for a huge upset win, and the championship game becomes an anticlimax. The coaches can’t seem to get their minds in the right frame to finish the job.

I have no real interest, but as with the semis I’m expecting UNC to pull it out.

I miss the old Big East from the days of their glory in the ’80s – Georgetown, Villanova, Providence, Syracuse, St. John’s, Seton Hall, UConn.

Jeff, Villanova won the Championship last year. And, they were supposed to challenge for the Championship this year, but lost in Buffalo.

I must be a bit dyslexic, I’ve always pronounced the team gozanga. and wondered where they were located

The Zags lost since they forgot how to make baskets in the last 10 minutes! The nice thing is I’ll have completely forgotten about it when I wake up tomorrow!

Zags looked great in the first half, but in the second, turnovers and fouls (the refs whistled the game nearly to death) were their downfall. Too bad. Of the 4 teams in the Final Four, NC was my least favorite.

Rick, North Carolina won their SIXTH Championship. You have to admire their consistency. The Zags will be back next year.

Yes, Rick. This was another game where the officials made a difference in who won.

George, Gonzaga may be “down the road” from me if you take I-90 and drive for six hours!

Not my favorite, but I thought they’d win. UNC has 6 Championships, trailing only UCLA and Kentucky, but lead all schools with 20 Final Four appearances.

Jeff, North Carolina lost on a buzzer beater last year. This year, they took control of the Championship game. But, I expect Gonzaga to return next year.
