Way to stimulate the economy. We have a recliner in the bedroom but Jackie has trouble sitting in it. I have two cousins who said the recliner was the only way they could sleep after their knee replacement.
Jeff, I used the recliner function on our old rocker/recliner during my recoveries from knee surgery. Worked well. La-Z-Boy Furniture was having a sale and Diane found a rocker/recliner we both liked.
The younger cat likes to climb on Alice or me if one of us is in our recliner, particularly if we drape her favorite blanket over ourselves. Ours isn’t a rocker, however. Doubt she would like that as much. (Alice opted for a leather recliner before we started sharing the house, much less with cats, or I would’ve warned her that they would find that irresistable for exercising claws…at this point, the arm-rests have also cracked…fabric covering always the way to go.)
Think of all the excretia you’re missing! And human dandruff unaugmented by pet dandruff seems so lonely…

Unlike Patti, I do like the rocking feature.
I just replaced my recliner a couple years ago. Mine is similar to yours. My sister has a huge one that could probably accommodate 2 people and is VERY padded.
I still have the old La-Z-Boy.
I’m in the market for a new one. I’m hoping to get a tall one, or one with legs because I have the current one on a 3 inch tall platform dad made to make it easier for mom(& now me) to get out of. With the slider, the chair keeps sliding back.
I bought some arm covers that have 3 pockets for remotes and maybe glasses, that’s really handy
Pshaw! Just this month I’ve replaced a microwave oven, vacuum, and I’m waiting for a part to arrive so I can have the washing machine fixed! I had a chair that stood me up when I was crippled, but the motor crapped out a week short of the one-year warranty! I settled with the seller for a 50% refund and now my stepson is working on the motor! I don’t need help standing anymore, but the heater and massage was a nice touch!
I assume La-Z-Boy refers to the chair and not to the handsome dude standing behind it.
Jerry, La-Z-Boy covers both me and the chair!
Jerry beat me to it.

Enjoy!

May you spend many wonderful hours in your new chair—reading, relaxing, watching tv, napping.
Deb, the rocker/recliner is mostly my TV chair. But, I’ve been known to doze off…
Rocking makes me dizzy but I love to recline. Many happy years!
Patti, the rocker was $100 less than the stationary recliner.

Todd, our house is a pet-free zone.

Beth, we’ve had good luck with all our La-Z-Boy furniture.

Maggie, I have a end table next to the rocker/recliner for glasses, remotes, and snacks.

Bob, Diane and I stayed away from the chairs with heaters, massagers, and other gizmos. They break down…and are expensive to fix. Simpler is better!
