NEW YORK GIANTS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

Buffalo Bills v New York Giants
After the Bills spanked the Miami Dolophins 41-14 last week, Bills fans are jacked up about this game with the New York Giants. However, running back LeSean McCoy and wide recover Sammy Watkins could be sitting out with injuries. Eli Manning could be running for his life if the Bills defensive line shows up like they did against Andrew Luck and the Colts a few weeks ago. With the weird weather and a possible hurricane effect, this game might be played in torrential rain. How will your favorite team do today?

I can guarantee my team won’t lose today. They’re playing on Monday night. I think they should be able to beat the Bears, but you never know.

After an 0-3 season start that statistically eliminates them from any hope for a post-season, the Saints limp back to the Superdome to take on arch rival Dallas in tonight’s Sunday Night Football Game. Although QB Drew Breese will supposedly start, having apparently recovered from the shoulder injury that kept him sidelined last week, I can’t say I’m feeling very upbeat about the team’s chances…and I suspect I’m not alone in the Who-Dat Nation for feeling that way.

Go Giants! With a little better play calling the Giants could be 3-0 instead of 1-2 right now. I don’t know what to expect from them this week but I would not be betting on them even if I did bet on games (which I don’t). I hope Eli has his track shoes on today.

Jeff, the weather at Ralph Wilson Stadium will be cool and breezy. Perfect football weather! The Bills have already faced Andrew Luck and Tom Brady. Now, Eli. This should be a fun game!

Deb should be upbeat. The Cowboys have lost their best running back (free agency), their QB (injury), and their best receiver (injury). They don’t look like winners. The Saints can take ’em in the Super Dome.

Go Seahawks! Lots of teams struggling this season, teams that either have been good in the last couple of seasons or were expected to be quite good this year, but injuries and other things have made a circus of the early standings. I hope the Bills win. The Giants ability to self destruct has carried on from last season, and Eli isn’t helping any.

Deb, don’t give up on your Saints, they’re not out of it yet, and you need to pull for you home team, regardless.

Well, of course, I never actively root against the Saints, but I’m realistic about their chances with an 0-3 start. Also, one of the things that might not be getting national news coverage but is all over the news here is that the Saints owner Tom Benson is in a legal battle with his grandchildren (who are battling Benson’s second wife) about control of the team and Benson’s fortune (he’s the wealthiest man in Louisiana). This has been a huge distraction and I can’t help but feel that the team’s lackluster performances so far this season is, in a way, reflective of the dysfunction going on in the owner’s family.

Hey Rick, so far it’s been the Bills who have done the self-destructing, with bad penalties and other mistakes.

Jeff, I’ve seen plenty of undisciplined actions in the NFL this season. The League needs to suspend some players…and make it stick.

I meant Lions, of course. That’s what happens when I post in the wee hours of the morning.

Patrick alert! The last two times I’ve posted here I had to re-enter my name and e-mail address.

Bob, I’ve contacted Patrick about the re-entering info problem. He’s working on it. I don’t think there’s much difference between the Bears and the Lions.

Deb, I reported this problem to Patrick (who is at a concert in Santa Fe). He promises to work on it when he returns to Albuquerque.
