NFL DIVISIONAL ROUND PLAYOFFS

Cleveland Browns might be the Cinderella team of the 2020 season. Their victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week was their first Playoff victory since January 1, 1995 when the Browns last won a playoff game, 20-13, over the New England Patriots. The Browns face last year’s Super Bowl Champions, the well rested Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are favored by 10 points. Go Browns!

Can the New Orleans Saints and Drew Brees beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the third straight time? Vegas thinks so because they’ve made the Saints 3-point favorites. The two oldest QBs in the Playoffs face each other. Can Tom Brady work his magic again in the Playoffs? Go Saints!

Who do you think will win these games?

My home team is the Detroit Lions. They last won a division title in 1957. I might have to change my allegiance to Buffalo.

Congrats on the Bills’ win, George. While not a runaway, the Bills deftly handled the Ravens—while the Ravens seemed to trip over their own feet multiple times.

I think the Chiefs will trounce the Browns today. Unlike the Steelers last week, the Chiefs will not allow the Browns to intercept the ball multiple times and build up a 28-0 lead by the end of the first quarter!

As I said yesterday, I’m worried about the Saints’ chances today. Brees is still dragging after coming back too soon from multiple rib fractures and a punctured lung, the team has been undisciplined and unfocused over their last few games, and Brady seems to have gotten his second wind and convinced his teammates that they’re to real deal. I think it will be a close game and come down to a field goal or who has final possession of the ball. Fingers crossed!

Deb, thanks for your kind words about the Bills win. It wasn’t artistic, but it was effective. I felt sad that Larmar Jackson sustained a concussion. The Bills have faced Tom Brady for decades so we know he is skilled at winning games. The Saints need to bring their “A” game today! Go Saints!

I’d like to see Cleveland win but if I’m betting real money I’ll go with the Chiefs all the way. The other game is tougher but I’ll go with the Saints because they’re at home.

Are you still dancing on the ceiling after the Bills game? Who would have thought that two such powerful offenses would combine for only 20 points? Certainly not me.

Michael, the Ravens and the Bills fought a tough battle in the swirling winds of Bills Stadium last night. Missed field goals, dropped balls, Big Plays. It wasn’t pretty, but the Bills got the job done. Next week will be even more epic!

Way to go, Bills! That interception was the killer.

Now all you need is the Browns to win in Kansas City for the Bills to host the Championship Game next Sunday! Unlikely, I agree, I’m afraid today will be midnight for the Cinderella Browns, but one can wish.

I think (and hope) the Saints will win again. I hope Deb’s scenario is wrong, because you never want Brady with the ball with a couple of minutes left and a field goal needed to tie or win. Go, Saints!

Jeff, Taron Johnson’s incredible inception and return for a touchdown completely changed the game! Like you, I’ll be rooting for the Saints against Brady and the Bucs this evening.

I’m hoping for the chiefs and saints to win

Since the chargers left, I can’t remember watching too many games in full. I’ll generally put one I’m interested in on, then when it comes to the first commercial, pause it and get back to it later when I can fast forward thru commercials

Props to Bills fans for getting together and donating $8 each to Lamar Jackson’s favorite charity. A kind gesture. I guess I’ll be sending some money to the Louisville Chapter of Blessings in a Backpack myself. They also contributed to the charity of our Walter Payton nominee. I’ll have to research Buffalo’s nominee and reciprocate. Buffalo has won a lot of fans down here.

Jeff, all this giving started a couple years ago when the Cincinnati Bengals’ QB Andy Dalton threw a last second TD pass to Tyler Boyd with 44 seconds left in the game that gave Cincinnati a 31-27 victory that knocked Baltimore out of the playoffs in 2017. Bills fans donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Dalton’s charity and Boyd’s charity to thank them. That tradition has continued. I hated to see Lamar Jackson get knocked out of the game (and I hated to see Patrick Mahomes left today’s game with a concussion).

Though I was very disappointed in Josh Allen’s fake “roughing the passer” flop. I expected better of him. Baltimore fans well remember when Tom Brady pretended to go down when Terrell Suggs literally touched him with one finger. Win with your talent!

I watched it all, unfortunately for my aching back, and was impressed by the Bills defense more than Allen and his wobbly passes. If Mahomes is healthy, and I hope he is, the Bills will have a tough time.

Saints looked awful, just awful. I hope Green Bay crushes Tampa next Sunday. I’m footballed out at this point, but I’ll no doubt watch the games next week.

Rick, the swirling winds of Bills Stadium caused Josh Allen’s passes to wobble. The Bills Defense saved both the Colts Playoff Game and the Ravens Playoff Game.
