The Football Gods smiled on the long suffering Buffalo Bills when Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton threw a Fouth Down pass to Tyler Boyd who promptly ran for 49 yards and a Touchdown! The Bengals win knocked the Baltimore Ravens out of the Playoffs and ended the Bills’ 17-year Playoff drought. But, today, the Bills face the mighty Jacksonville Jaguars who are 9-point favorites. I’m sorry to say that I think the Bills season ended today. The late game today, featuring Deb’s New Orleans Saints, could be determined by which Cam Newton shows up. Newton has a rocket arm, but he also has impaired judgement at times. The Saints are favored by 6 1/2-points. I think the Saints will go marching on in the Playoffs. Who do you think will win today?
The outcome of the Saints-Panthers game will not only depend on which Cam Newton shows up but also on which Saints team shows up. If it’s the offensive powerhouse coupled with the great-wall defense that won eleven games this season, the Saints should easily beat the spread. If it’s the bumbling, inept offense and porous defense that lost to the Buccaneers (!) last week, it’s going to be a long sad winter for The Who-Dat Nation.
Deb, both home teams lost yesterday…unusual in Playoff games. Statistically, that should favor the Saints and the Jags today.
What Deb said. Go, Saints!
Driving down through North Florida, everything was all Jaguars, all the time. If the Bills manage to pull the upset, they’d have to go back to New England next week.
Jeff, with the Bills being 9-point underdogs, I don’t think we have to think about next week.
Hoping for the Saints and Bills to win
Maggie, I feel more confident in a Saints win than a Bills win.
You say the game is on at 1:05, so I guess the listing for the game at 10:00 this morning is a mistake. I’ll run some errands and tune in at 1:00. Go Bills!
Rick, all times are EDT.
Okay, I was kidding. I’m hoping for a big upset for the Bills (Titans did it!), and a Saints win.
Interesting that 3 of the 4 pre-realingnment NFC West are in the playoffs this year (Rams, Saints, Falcons).
Rick, the Titans are a better team than the Bills.
Halfway through the second quarter and no score. Go, Bills!
Jeff, I think the Bills will lose this War of Attrition.
Seems KC was beaten by bad officiating! Glad I didn’t watch! I’d like the Bills to win but again I’ll being doing other things and won’t watch!
Bob, an obvious fumble wasn’t called. The Chiefs got hosed.
Bummer. I got home just in time to see the interception and the finale. Close, but no cigar.
Jeff, I’m hoping for a much better Bills team next season.
Too bad, George. Hope you don’t have to wait another 22 years for a playoff win.
Now it’s go Saints!
Rick, I’m confident the Saints are going to receive some Devine help in this game.
Deb must be pleased. The Saints are looking very good so far. It’s almost like watching the Drew Brees of old. He has a lot of weapons.
Now that was a finish!
Jeff, I’m sure Deb was nervous as Cam Newton and the Panthers drove down the field with under a minute on the clock.
It was heart-attack time in our house as the clock ran down!
I couldn’t believe Payton had them run the ball three times like that. It was never going to work. Throw the damn ball! It worked all game.
Deb, good luck to you and the Saints next week in Viking Land!
