Back in 2023, I was mildly entertained by John Cena’s wacky character series, Peacemaker (you can read my review here). In a couple of days, Peacemaker, Season 2 will show up with some major changes over the original series. Since James Gunn is now running DC Studios, he’s revamped several series, most notably Superman this summer. Peacemaker (aka, Christopher Smith) now discovers an alternate world.
Some things stay the same. Danielle Brooks returns as Leota Adebayo, the daughter of Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). Freddie Stroma reprises his role as Vigilante. Jennifer Holland (Agent Emilia Harcourt) and Steve Agee (Agent John Economos) join additions Tim Meadows, Sol Rodriguez, and Frank Grillo (Rick Flag, Sr.).
If Peacemaker, Season 2 delivers the same extreme action as the first season, it could be fun. I’ll be watching.
Well, unlike last time, we do have HBO Max now, so I will show this to Jackie, who is more into super-heroics.

I havent completed S1. Not sure Ill try S2. Some of the routines in S1 were crudely funny, but the credit opening was obnoxious and the supporting team is lackluster. I suppose such Scooby-Doo Gangs are the lasting cliche from the Joss Wheedon shows of the early 00s.
Fred, PEACEMAKER specializes in slap-stick violence. Lackluster captures the essence of PEACEMAKER, SEASON 1.
“Slapstick violence” characterizes a lot of movies and shows these days, and while I generally avoid such, sometimes they just win me over. I like PEACEMAKER. (Including, Fred, the opening credit dance.) I really enjoyed the Clive Owen hitman movie, the ridiculous SHOOT ‘EM UP. And one of the bloodiest movies I’ve ever sat through, the comedy READY OR NOT. I tend not to rewatch movies, but I have with both of those.
So, yeah, I am looking forward to Season 2.
Jeff, like you, I’m looking forward to Season 2 of PEACEMAKER. James Gunn has some interesting ideas for the DC Universe.
