PITTSBURGH STEELERS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

It’s hard to believe the Buffalo Bills (3-1) are 14-point favorites over the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-3) despite the lengthy list of injured players. Although the weather at Highmark Stadium projects to be benign–54 degrees and sunny–the winds off Lake Erie could present a problem to passers. The Steelers claim they’re going to start rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett which strikes me as a panic move. Head Coach Sean McDermott has an 8-3 record against rookie QBs. How will your favorite NFL team do today?

I hate the Stealers so GO BILLS! I don’t even know who the Seahawks are playing but I’ll root for the home team anyway.

The Mariners pulled off a miracle, why not the football team?

The hapless 1-3 Saints (rapidly becoming the Keystone Cops of the NFL) take on the 2-2 Mariners in the Super Dome today. I’ll have the game on, but my kindle will be close by for distractionary reading.

Deb, there’s still a MLB series going on today, too. Today is Diane’s annual Bills Party where she invites many of her retired teacher colleagues. Pizza, chicken wings, salads, chips, dip, and various beverages (the alcoholic ones are extremely popular whether the Bills are winning or losing). Dessert: carrot cake and apple pie.

I’m sure you’re happy with the results. It helped the Saints that the zebras were on their side but that final touchdown was earned.

Bob, I was impressed with the Steelers’s rookie QB, Kenny Pickett. He’s going to be an elite quarterback once he learns the Steelers’s offensive.

What do you think I’m going to say? The 3-1 honeymoon period (tough as it was) is over for the Giants. They are only down a touchdown to the Packers in London so far, but barring a miracle of repeatedly getting to Rodgers while Saquon Barkley runs wind, I don’t see gimpy Daniel Jones leading them to victory. Stranger things have happened, yes – like Toronto blowing an 8-1 lead at home! – but I wouldn’t bet on the Giants.

With amazon or whatever pay service has games as well as NFL network, it’s not as easy to watch the games now. I’m rooting for the chiefs now, and possibly the packers (despite aaron rodgers idiocy). Also want the Rams to win to rub it in the faces of the “judas’s” to quote my fav local sports writer
