The winner of the Seahawks vs. Panthers could be on the Fast-Track to the Super Bowl. The Panthers are favored by 2 1/2 points. The Steelers are coming into Denver battered and bruised from that knock-out game with the Bengals last weekend. Denver is favored by 7 points. It should be more. Who do you want to win?

I’ve thought for a while that the Panthers, Cardinals, and Seahawks were the three best teams this year. Despite ups and down this hasn’t changed. I would be surprised if the Steelers won, but I’m no fan of Denver so I have no vested interest. A good friend’s son-in-law leads the Panthers’ drumline so she is very excited about the team this year. I’d like to see a Panthers-Cardinals Super Bowl (OK, NFC Championship) but if the “good Seahawks” show up I can see them winning. Look what they did in Arizona.

And speaking of Arizona, what a finish last night! It was inexcusable to let the Packers score like that. but overtime was amazing. I remember years ago when Larry Fitzgerald was one of the few players they had and my father would rave about him every week.

Jeff, the Packers surprised me with their grittiness in forcing Overtime. The Packers deserve a lot of praise for over-achieving and almost pulling off an upset.

Bill, Aaron Rodgers has thrown TWO “Hail Mary” passes this season: the one that won the game in Detroit and last night’s which sent the game into Overtime. Too bad the Packers had their season end.

I agree, aaron rodgers and the packers were amazing. If the ref had called holding correctly, I think there may have been a different outcome, but that’s life. the cardinals played well.

Today, I’m torn. The panthers have come close to a no loss season, and I’d love to see that rewarded, but I feel the seahawks need to make up for pete carrolls stupid end to last years superbowl.

I have recorded the first superbowl on the nfl network. they patched together film to recreate the game. problem is the sound keeps going out, and it mostly is the current commentary. Not sure I’ll finish watching.

Maggie, I still remember watching that game. I was working in Manhattan and went up the the Bronx to watch it at a co-worker’s house. At halfway we went out to Bronx Park and threw a football around with a few of his friends. (Needless to say, the game was NOT played at night.)

      Face it, we’re old.

Maggie, Diane was amazed at Aaron Rodgers’ SECOND “Hail Mary” pass of this season that send last night’s game into Overtime. Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in the NFL in my opinion.

Rick, the Seahawks scored a couple quick TDs in the second half. Let’s see what happens. The Giants came back on the Panthers after Carolina had a big lead.

Wow. At the moment, Carolina can do nothing wrong. It looks like a total mismatch. Wilson made some bad throws. One play at a time, guys.

Rick, the Panthers didn’t score a point in the Second Half. The Seahawks just fell a little bit short. The Buffalo Bills play the Seahawks next season.

I hate that prevent offense. I would always try and score one more time in the second half before shutting it down. Instead, Rivera seemed to be running out the clock almost the entire second half. One mistake and it could have cost him. I prefer a game like the Giants’ divisional playoff game vs. the 49ers before their first Super Bowl – 49-3 and no messing around. Had he turned Newton loose in the second half it wouldn’t have gotten that close.

Still, I was very surprised Seattle let them get so far ahead. Had Carroll kicked the relatively easy field goal in the first half it might have made it a little more interesting.

Carolina-Arizona should be a good matchup. I still believe whoever wins that should be the Super Bowl champ. We’ll see.

PS – We’re having a little light snow at the moment.

Jeff, I don’t think Carolina just laid down and “let” the Seahawks run up 24 points in the interests of playing prevent. Seattle just shut them down in the second half.

Jeff, I agree with your analysis. Arizona vs. Carolina will be an excellent game. I think the NFC is stronger than the AFC this year, too.

As I said, I believe the best teams are in the NFC this year and whoever wins in Carolina next week should – but of course, might not – win the Super Bowl.

Nothing that happened this week changed that.

Jeff, last weekend all the away teams won. This weekend all the home teams won. I’m guessing there will be a “split” next weekend.

Bob, if the Steelers running back hadn’t fumbled, the outcome might have been very different. I think it might be a New England/Carolina Super Bowl.
