I was in our local Sam’s Club a few days ago with a list of “necessities” that Diane sent me to buy. At one of the endcaps I was shocked to see a mountain of Starbucks Sunsera Blend–a new coffee flavor! I immediately filled my cart with the new offering.
Starbucks Sunsera Blend is one of Starbucks’ “blonde” coffees. It’s a light roast, so it has a much smoother, more delicate flavor profile compared to the typical bitter Starbucks coffees. I like the soft citrusy notes with a hint of floral and a subtle nuttiness that tickle my tongue. Like all the blonde Starbucks coffees, Sunsera is bright but not acidic.
If you’re looking for a new coffee experience, I recommend Starbucks Sunsera Blend! GRADE: A
Starbucks? Ptah! Overpriced and usually burnt coffee…clerks and servers acting all fancypants and calling themselves baristas…and why the heck do they want to write my name on the cup?…and what’s this with this short, tall grande, venti, and trento nonsense?…Macchiato, frappuccino, flat white, caffe mocha, cold brew, blonde roast, and throw in every unnatural flavor you can think of, and why not add a shot of nitrogen just for jollies, and add some soy milk, foam whip, but make it a half caf, okay? Sweet mother of God. Just give me a cup of regular joe, dammit!
And get off my lawn!
Jerry, your attitudes towards Starbucks are spreading. The company is struggling and their prices are going up because of the Trump Tariffs. Yet, Starbucks is doing well in China!
I went through a coffee shop phase back in the late eighties and early nineties when the places were popping up like mushrooms in a dank forest. I did so mainly because I would never set foot in a bar alone and it was a place to sit and read a book for a few hours when I felt the urge to get out of the house. I confess the fact that I was asked out by more than a couple of smart, interesting baristas didn’t hurt.
Then cellphones and laptops came along and completely ruined the atmosphere. That and I never could never get Hemingway’s ” A Clean, Well-lighted Place” out if my mind whenever I set foot in one of the places. These days I happily fire up the stove top percolator and enjoy my coffee in the blissful peace of my own home (the music is also much better).
I was never a fan of Starbucks (see Parker Posey in “Best in Show” ) and as you note their coffee is awfully bitter. That said I’m glad you found a palatable brew. Enjoy while I’ll be gentleman and keep my comments on Sam’s Club to myself.
Byron, Sam’s Club has garnered as many complaints as Starbucks has. Some of my friends refuse to shop at either one!
We used to go to Starbucks after lunch and hang out for an hour or so, though I never loved the too strong, burnt coffees. But the pandemic killed that, we broke the habit, and we haven’t been back since. Jackie figured we are saving $100 a MONTH!
At home, we have a combination of Starbucks French Roast (Dark Blend) and Community Coffee Cafe Special (Medium-Dark Blend).
Starbucks Blond Coffee is too “blonde” for Jackie.

Jeff, I was a big fan of Columbian coffees for many years before I switched to Starbucks Blande coffees. My favorite Blonde Coffee was Willow, but Starbucks discontinued it.

Jeff, I love caffeine so maybe that’s why I’m a Starbucks Blonde coffee addict!
Jerry, the “Tall,” “Grande,” and “Godzillo” designations are a Guy thing. Many men hate being associated with words like “short” and “small.”

Re Jeff’s comment, a server at a coffee shop (not Starbucks) once told me that a dark roast has less caffeine than lighter, less intend roasts. I was shocked, shocked!
Fred, have you tried Starbucks Iced Energy Tropical Peach 12 fl oz Can? It will perk you up without coffee!

I’ve been inside a Starbuck’s about three times, to get my granddaughter an Italian soda, As I recall! I never drank any of their concoctions myself! You are either brave or foolish to fill your cart with a new blend without tasting it first! What if it sucks?

Only went to a Starbucks once – didn’t like the coffee in those plastic mugs nor the atmosphere …
On many on my trips as a single I took a small water boiler and some soluble coffee powder aka Nescafe with me.
My best memory is from the trip I took to Ft Lauderdale Beach not long after it was hit by a hurricane and many hotels on the beach were still in need of repairing.
One afternoon I went to my hotel room and there were twocleaners so as a kind of tip I gave each a package of German chocolate.
From that day I always got a double portion of coffee etc for breakfast …
I really hate thos palstic or paper coffee mugs!
Wolf, the drive-thru lanes at our local Starbucks are always full of cars buying coffee in those plastic/paper cups. It’s non-stop!
